If the intent it to just keep the cycle(s) covered, wheeling them in back and covering them with a custom or less-than-custom fabric covering is okay. A structure to protect them will be considered a shed, regardless of the use, and as Tinker notes permission will not be forthcoming. If you are willing to flout authority (a not infrequent occurrence in my villa community) make sure that nobody can see the top of the shed if they are on their tipitoes (which will not prevent it from showing up on the drone photos real estate folk take to show the location of homes).

OP, I just realized I have a ceiling mounted, rope operated system to hang the bike from the ceiling. I bought this from Harbor Freight many years ago, and recently sold the bike. Let me know if this would work for you, and you can have it a half price.

I was told some time ago that if you have a Birdcage that 'anything' can be put within the Birdcage without ARC approval. This is how above ground pools and freestanding sheds / structures can be erected on your property. You may want to investigate the validity of this if it might suit your needs

[QUOTE=CURLYSANDY;2463524]Hello all - would like to place a small cycle store in our back yard in our Courtyard Villa. No-one will see it,
After careful consideration and much deep thought about this I grant you permission to put your small cycle store in your courtyard THAT NO ONE WILL EVER SEE! It’s a plastic box that is 4’ tall and your fence is 6’.In the words of Nike “ JUST DO IT”

establishing a "store" as the OP stated indicates selling/repairing cycles on their property as a business. That is NOT allowed here in the villages. If they decide to do it anyway, without approval, just hope that none of your neighbors report you.

If I were you, I'd get a documented note from Community Standards saying they approve your storage unit. Don't accept a verbal approval.

Well if they seek permission using those words it will not be approved. Gotta learn the language if you want to live an life of harmony in a foreign country.

Too bad, I was hoping it would be a speakeasy style bike shop. Not exactly "public" info, you've gotta know somebody. Secret password and all. You finally get in and see high end stuff you only read about online. You blow thru a big part of your budget buying bespoke kit. You instantly become part of a secret cycling society. I love it!

Personally, I think you could "get away" with something like this up against the rear of your walled-in CYV, but it depends on how much of a risk taker you are. Might fit fine on your lanai also.
Here: Cycle Store
