Just wanted to clear that up.

Now as far as bias and sensationalism, well obviously you are free to form your own opinion on that.

Overall, I think they tend to lean left.
You bring up two very good points...one that AP is only a source The Sun uses to fill space...and secondly, that AP is, and always has been, left-leaning. We take every AP article with a huge grain of salt, then research those topics through credible news sources to discover the truth.

Would you divulge what you consider to be your credible news sources? (Honest question...no sarcasm intended. I agree about AP.)

What I will divulge is that it is NOT ABC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, or any of the so-called main-stream media. Other than the WSJ, Washington Times, Orange County Register, FOX News, Powerline and a few others, the agendas are clear and unambiguous.

And they are as biased as the ones you mentioned first with Fox being highly inaccurate to boot

You nailed it. I go to FOX, the WSJ, the OC Register and a few other sources for FACTS, the mainstream media being little more than heavily biased spin generating propaganda organs which rarely fully present the facts.

Nothing like getting up in morning, and strolling out to driveway to pick up The Daily Sun!!! I can read about my fellow "Villagers" and their accomplishments, and see plenty of smiley faces of people enjoying living in The Villages. Sports page is great, and sports writers are great. Plenty of local news to be read, and photos of water fowl etc. Local writers have good stories about "us" (Villagers) It's my "Daily Sunshine" paper.

I just love you PapaLarry. Maybe because we are often on the same page but you are much kinder and far more diplomatic. Your attitude and your posts are helpful and you don't hold back if you feel strongly about something.

Life becomes increasingly short and I am of the philosophy that if you see something good or someone good tell them.

It is a foggy beginning to another beautiful day in The Villages.

But I am getting MORE worried about Villages Pl.

For what it costs, which is incredibly reasonable, I think The Daily Sun does an outstanding job for a community like this. It gives a little state and national news and keeps us well informed about what's going on in The Villages. I also get the Orlando Sentinel a couple of days a week for my print version of more news, and I keep up with the world with NPR and CNN. I do wish the Sun were less politically partisan and occasionally included a column by someone who is not a diehard conservative (read liberal), but that's really a small complaint. It would be nice to get some opposing opinions too once in a while for those of us who lean in that direction. :-)

Don't lean too far, or you'll find yourself in the Political Forum.

What editorial page ?? Letters to the editor and a lot of guest writers yes. But every featured writer follows the bias of the paper itself.

Have you read the New York Times lately? This is the definition of biased journalism. I think the Daily Sun has a ways to go to approach this level. All news services are biased. It is just a matter of degree.

And if you lean too far left, you're likely to fall off the edge of TV! (Oh, NO, I should just erase this myself now! I know it' going to be removed)
