When I was doing the LPP recently, I read the Daily Sun every morning and really enjoyed it. Gave me a quick, concise list of the daily activities, movies and entertainment. Also enjoyed the local TV "news."

For us who are looking for homes, it provided plenty of listings to go look at. I agree with others that I can read or see all the bad news I want on television or the Internet.

For the most part I like the sports page, it is usually pretty good. I am use to a newspaper that prints "both political columnist" but It's their paper so they can print what they please. For the local information, I keep it and the price is right too.

Come on now. It is the editorial page that you don't like. I like that part just fine, as the majority of villagers do.

The AP is a national wire service, they don't run their own newspaper. So no, they aren't supported by advertising. They are supported by the fees they charge newspapers to print their wire content.

In this case, the Sun pays them to use AP content to fill up the inside of their A news section. Which apparently many people in this thread somehow miss every day because it is filled with national and world NEWS.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Now as far as bias and sensationalism, well obviously you are free to form your own opinion on that.

Overall, I think they tend to lean left.

Good luck, I posted nearly the same moment a month ago and the attacks began immediately. I call the Daily Sun my 5 minute newspaper. this is how long it takes me to go from front page to the last page. I do agree with you 100%.

You repeated what you said and I will repeat my response to it;

Most people find some value in receiving the daily paper, even if it's just for coupons.
If you don't like receiving the paper, it's easy to pick up the phone and cancel your subscription.

I agree it doesn't take long to read it-but I enjoy it! The subscription price is a bargain!

Is there better news papers than the Daily Sun? Probably. Is there a better news paper for The Villages? I doubt it. I enjoy reading the Daily Sun. If you want hard news, go online or watch any of the local news stations.

As many have said before me, if you don't like it, don't read it... That seems pretty simple...

I like the Daily Sun.....not only the word puzzles, comics and Dear Annie.

I think they put a lot of local "smalltown" news in the paper. It feels like a real hometown newspaper. And there's national and state news too.
