I hope it has a separate smaller pathway separated from the cart paths for bikers and walkers

I would suspect the volume of traffic over these new bridges would be at least double the volume of carts using the old bridge. I would hope the bridges have a newer design with better features. The integration of foot and bicycle traffic on the bridges may be needed as that is a feature of the new areas down south.

A simple concrete deck, 'integral' type bridge would suffice.

It would be similar (in looks) to the existing Bailey Rd. bridge, that is just south of the Okahumpka Service Plaza over the Florida Turnpike.

The reason the arch bridge over 27/441 was built like it was, is because of the amount of area it would have taken to building the approaches on both sides...in making the bridge deck itself level.

Any bridge over 44...will not be so constrained.

My guess is that the developer will actually make it wide enough to get a pickup truck over it in addition to golf carts...so as to be able to more conveniently service landscaping, utilities, etc.

Not really a big deal at all.

I heard it will be a toll bridge, but will accept sunpass.

I am thinking that tunneling under a divided 4 lane turnpike, would be much more problematic (and expensive?), plus it would be hard to make it large enough to get a pickup sized vehicle from one side to the other...which I believe will be something they will want with this crossing.

I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Since they have already announced it will be a bridge, I guess people didn't feel the need to discuss tunnels.

Per the Engineering firm "Horny and Paymemore", keep the bridge narrow with a clear glass road surface. No stripes not necessary.

Now, that would be cool and you could locate the boxes throughout the Villages to transport you and your cart

Really, you need a restaurant at the top so people can make comments on the food, service, noise, etc as they pass through.

The bridge will need some type of barrier system to keep those that complain all the time about the greedy developers and no build-out in sight from jumping off the bridge.

Need a net like they are installing on the Golden Gate Bridge

That's a good idea. The restaurant at the top can be located in the middle of a roundabout. Safer than most since it only need two exits.
