Default More homes to be built

Just heard tonight from a friend who is a real estate agent that they are moving the polo grounds and building more homes there.

I have a friend in Weirsdale who owns a horse and is friends with a polo player. She told me this awhile ago but had no details where the new polo field will be.

Out of curiosity, I just looked up this property (Padua Farms/Stables in Summerfield) on Zillow.com. Last two "transactions" noted that the property was for sale on 10/21/13 for $17,900,000. Then, on 3/22/14, "Listing Removed". It's currently listed as "OFF MARKET". See for yourself...15400 S Us Hwy 301, Summerfield, FL 34491 is Off Market | Zillow

I haven't a clue as to what any of the Zillow notations mean. Just sharing in case it's of interest to anyone.

IMO the polo grounds is the biggest waste of realastate In the villages. I am susprised it took this long to figure it out

Either way I sure it 4 or 5 years down the road before and construction starts?

Makes sense to relocate the Polo fields and develop on land already owned. I'm sure the govt. approval process would be much easier than what they experienced in Wildwood.

There are thousands of jobs depending on their business of development.

So TIRED of hearing the Morses are greedy.

The Morses are still WORKING.

I for one want to keep them here and involved or we will soon have more of the inmates running the asylum. What makes ME want to bite is all the nickel and dime spending on "improvements" by the CDD elected folks north of 466 and folks wanting to add government restrictions to golf carts and change this and that. Build a covered pool, Etc. Etcl. Etc. Sooner or later the goose that laid the golden egg is gonna be deader than a duck due to folks who know NOTHING about running a city this size..........running a city this size.

And soon someone will weigh in about Freedom and Progress. I say you knew this was a planned development and not a voting city when you moved here.

There. I feel better.

Just think if they would not have added any homes below 466A none of these people would've gotten to enjoy the life that we all have.

I've heard that TV is the fastest growing city in America. It's rather natural to want things to not change, but that will not happen. Sure I'd like to see more parks and 'green space'. But for now we will keep coming back to TV for part of our winters...best show around!

graciegirl - perhaps you could give us a few examples of what those "nickel and dime...improvements...north of 466" are?

I subtlety blew the alarm bugle months ago when the northern districts commissioners got on the safety of the multi modal paths kick. Creating situations to spend money, get their
name in the news, and testing the waters to gauge just how much power they can wield.
Should the day come the developer stops developing our way of life and maybe sell their commercial holdings and move on, the Villages will drastically change for the worse, not the better. Our districts will most likely become independent homeowners associations with the money spending, regulating types pushing their way into power and making money and lifestyle decisions that will adversely affect us all one way or another. That will be a disaster. I have seen this governing first hand and want no part of it. Just my opinion...
