No, Kathie, ONE animal lover needs to use common sense. The rest of us already do.

[QUOTE=Golfingnut;856725]I will. He is having his morning egg. One fried with just a little butter for flavor.

Hope no one notices he is licking my breakfast plate.

That's why they invented dishwashers!

I never thought of this, guess I'll be having my dogs drink from the water fountains instead of hauling water everywhere !!!!!!!!

They even have to put up signs telling people not to put poop in the trash cans.... What the heck is wrong with people! If you have done this shame on you!

These dog threads are heartwarming to me. They are testimony to human optimism in that both sides think that something they say will make the other side suddenly say, "Eureka, I have been wrong all along." Arguments driven by dogma are never resolved.

This is so true!!!!!! I swear, some folks will see the word "dog" in a subject and open it just so they can argue.....now add "poop" to the subject and they're REALLY excited to argue! I truly don't think they really dislike dogs as it may seem by their posts.....it just gives them an excuse to argue.....and it's easy to argue when hidden behind a keyboard, throwing nasty comments, just for the sake of argument.

Not really.

I'm pretty sure the original poster posted this problem so that awareness to it would make the offender(s) wake up and see that the fountain and properties are not their personal property, and people need to be told when they're being inconsiderate and in some cases, a public health hazard.

It's not about the dogs. It's about owners who have no respect for other people's property and in this instance, community property.

That is true. Now we need to focus on not letting toddler grandchildren poop in the pool or sit on tables with their diapers on. Or six year olds put their fingers up their nose and handle the menu's and a lot of other gross stuff.

That is just life folks, kids and dogs and old people and young people and not all acting spiffily. It is called the human condition and we old-er ones have tooooooo much time on our hands.

Now everyone go out and play. It's a beautiful day in The Villages.

Good perspective Gerryann.

As Gracie so wisely said: "That is just life folks, kids and dogs and old people and young people and not all acting spiffily. It is called the human condition ..."

no, I'm not jesting. I assume there is an arc to the flow of water and one would position the dog so that it's tongue can't reach any part of the actual fountain.
anyway, I worked in a hospital and we were told never to use water fountains because of the humans that use them.

Off topic! Been covered a myriad of times. This thread is about one dog owner out of a 110,000 people who put his dog up to a water fountain.

You can buy retractable water bowls that can be put in a purse or pocket. Fill up the bowl and give the pup a drink. Imagine me letting my 100 lb lab drink from any water fountain? Very unsanitary and thoughtless to let any dog drink from a water fountain.
