One of my mom's favorites. Another example of a Top 40 to "Adult Pop" crossover hit.

Did Mary Hopkin ever have another hit?
A few minor ones, mostly in the UK...

Did you know that she was one of the first artists signed by the new "Apple Records" label?

You must have a VERY limited understanding of Rap music...

Angry Villages Radio.

When we came to the Villages from Naples, We were both thinking that they played the oldies for the people, but as you said, before long it headed up age bracket and we quit. Try 99.7 I think, Ocala, they throw in some good ones now and then.

Tastes and times change. But I do think it weird that a radio station dedicated to seniors would not do market research and tailor their playlist to be acceptable to the majority of their market. Maybe they did - I don't know.

I understood the point the author was making, I didn't understand the reason for the post. I don't mind it. I don't object to it. Just curious if they are just venting or want to get the station to change - I just don't know.[/QUOTE]

BTW, "rap" occupies on a small slice of modern music. No need to become pre-occupied with it.
Oh, my.. You are SOOOO wrong about that...

Ah! Give jimjam a break. The misspellings are probably the fault of good old autocorrect. Happens to me a lot. It's the thought that counts, right?

I plead guilty as charged when it comes to spelling.

I have seen a lot worse threads - some that only 5 people at best would be interested in. This one is NOT my favorite, but it has some redeeming value.

"Thought?"... Bwahaha!

I was simply commenting to him as he commented about another poster with "spelling/grammar/syntax" issues...

You know, Pot, meet Kettle?

I heard a band playing a Prince song at Brownwood tonight, first I went "Huh?", then I realized that Prince and Michael Jackson would be 62 now.
