In fact, I love Motown, R n B, Funkadelic, etc. Rap is a cultural thing, and I find that culture offensive -- grabbing your crotch and talking about ho's and rape is not my idea of music to my ears. Everyone has a right to their own sensibilities and Rap grates against mine.

DJ's don't are told by management what to play. The DJ may able to play one request or song of his choosing every hour or two.

steadily gone downhill, asmore crap like Michael Jackson and Disco became part of the playlist. Despite that, we have remained loyal and continued to listen to the station. Today at approximately 1:44 PM that all changed. Something happened that I never expected from the Villages radio station, they played RAP. For us, that’s a game changer, it brought back bad memories of the Super Bowl halftime show. We refuse to listen to a station that broadcasts noise pollution instead of music. By by WVLG!
I can’t wait for the to start playing 80s heavy metal

We (55-60) have to listen to your music, why can’t you listen to ours? Hmmm.

please define for me what responsible music is , I’m 83 and have heard closed minds hating different kinds of music all my life from jitter bug music of the 40’ s to todays hip hop , what is responsible music and who are the people who decide what’s responsible music is , I’m still evolving at my age and always finding something new across all genres, with out forsaking all the music I’ve loved through the decades .

You all need to get over yourselves. Radio tries to be something for everyone. If you don’t like what’s playing you can always play your 8 tracks or use you Walkman to play what you want to listen to. Opinions and complaints are like “you know” everyone has one. LOL

You know, Pot, meet Kettle?
Again I am guilty as charged for the crime of pointing out another forum member's CONSISTENT (and strange) syntax and grammar errors. (perhaps English was not the 1st language growing up) It probably sounded snarky of me, so I apologize. It seemed to improve suddenly at the start of this thread and I felt compelled to point that out. I was curious and a little snarky. But, maybe my pointing it out was helpful. I have lots of problems following some people's lines of thought when they mess up the syntax.
.........I don't mind being called out on my spelling, which I know is a weak point. I try to make myself as clear as possible when I write in this forum. I guess in the final analysis, we are all a long way from high school English class.

His shows contained a generous amount of vulgarity, occasional screaming, and random drum-beats that didn't coordinate with any particular tempo. He was also a musical genius and a fan of Igor Stravinsky.

We have choices in life. We can live with expanding minds, or we can die in myopia.
Any artist that plays a bicycle on TV can't be ALL BAD. Some consider Janis Joplin to be a "screamer", but I liked her songs - the words drew a visual picture!
