While I agree that "the simple thing is to pick up the trash", I don't agree that the workers do not have biweekly trash pick up. I'm willing to bet that virtually EVERY site they work at has a trash receptacle. There is NO reason they need to be throwing their trash on the ground...

Gratitude? Yeah, I give them all the gratitude possible for building our dream homes and place to live, it's hard work, especially in the heat and humidity, but that doesn't mean I need to feel good about picking up their trash.

Sorry Kitty, I just don't agree.

Of course everyone SHOULD police their own litter. I'm saying this issue does not set me off, I find it tolerable, it's an attitude. I wish slow drivers were tolerable. Neither of these irritants is something we can do much to fix. Best we can do is say shame on Villagers tossing their secret beer containers. Probably construction crews aren't reading this.

Your quote is why I mentioned the particular location below the wooden bridge. This trashing is totally coming from golf carts. I concluded a long time ago that that many of those workers from the outside and in general the public from the outside have distain for Villagers. Their perception of Villagers are, we are a bunch of demanding rich people.

This thread engages me cognitively and emotionally. It calls me discriminate as to my circle of influence (Steven Covey), and calls up research on Change Management, as well as mental health/spiritual concepts whereby one knows of the external control exerted when one's buttons are pushed.
Stimulated, and thanks to the OP...

OMG, I would have to report that person to the authorities, it wouldn't matter who it was.....friend or relative. I'm sure you'd hate to get anyone in trouble with the law, but it could save their life, or someone else totally innocent. Drinking & driving should not be tolerated.

about having one's buttons pushed... we all have them and our intolerance may slide our reasoning ability into black and white thinking, possibly the worst personal perspective. us against them..

Default Still Paradise

Some people litter, some people police the area they live in, this is true anywhere. The Villages is still paradise when you compare it to the rest of the world. We have minimal litter, most of our villagers do not litter and I have seen many of them pick up litter they come across. The landscaping is beautiful, the flowers are always changed to look great, and the whole complex is tended to regularly. I would rather look at the beauty of our villages than complain about minimal litter. The Villages is still Paradise.
