You have a choice...buy or not buy. Winn-Dixie or a different store. Rather than criticizing.....and finding bones to pick.

No. I don’t think of it as finding bones to pick. I honestly didn’t know about the 10 for $10 pricing. I’m glad the poster pointed it out. I don’t like it.

It's that way on everything they have priced by multiples. Go to Publix and if for example a Pizza is marked 2 for $9.00, and you buy one, you'll pay $4.50. They don't cheat the customers.

Winn Dixie will also make you become a member and get a key card. If you don't and an item is on sale, you don't get the sale price unless you have the key card scanned. They seem to want to find ways to gig the customer out of a few dollars more. That's why I really like shopping at Walmart, especially the new Neighborhood store. You know most times when you buy something there, it's the best price around. We do our shopping about 70% Walmart and 30% at Publix.
If you ask to use the store card and you get the same discount. You just don't get any gas miles.

I hate it that these stores think we Villagers are too stupid to realize that they simply doubled the price and want us to believe their pineapples are normally $4.99. Go to Winn Dixie after next week and you will be able to purchase a pineapple for less than $3.00 or maybe less.
Why don't you just grow them yourself! We have 8 growing in our yard, be glad to share when ripe!

I have not encountered the pricing that the poster described, at WD. It might vary by item.

According to the lady at Winn Dixie, your multiple pricing explanation is not correct. If an item is priced as 10 for $10, then each item is a dollar, regardless of how many you buy. But, there is a limit of 10 items per customer.

Not correct. At Winn Dixie, an item priced as 10 for $10 means that each item is a dollar regardless of how many you buy, but you can only purchase a maximum of 10 items per customer. So, if you purchase 3 items, it will cost 3 dollars.

If that is the case, then they've changed to the correct way of pricing (Publix style). Probably since the opening of Walmart and Aldis, they had to actually try to compete. Six months ago, those donuts would of been $1.79 for less than 10 or any other product when you purchased lesser amounts. Ask her when they changed their pricing? I no longer shop there to keep track of their shenanigans.
