If they knock on your door ask them to hold on, that you have a Jahovah pamphlet for them to read. They'll be gone before you return.

Whenever a service provider stops to do work on our street, a handful of neighbors run out and ask for cards and estimates for similar work on their property. Lawn service, tree trimmers, landscapers, etc. That's how we found the people who trimmed our bushes, the people who mow our lawn, and the guy who removed our palms. All of those people found new work from our neighbors while they were doing our work.
We recently had our driveway texture painted and the guy who did it must have handed out 5 cards to people walking by. This makes me very suspicious of anyone who needs to knock on a door to get customers. Anyone around here who is any good is busy without going door-to-door. |

What’s a Villages approval letter?

Just like so many nuisance issues - don't expect any support from the Villages. Once you buy your house, you are on your own.

For some lonely seniors, that's the only live person they get to talk to during the day, don't knock it until you try it.

![]() ![]() It's not a Villages issue. It can be in your RC, but as with all developments.......there is no enforcement.

I once saw a man looking in my neighbors windows on her front lanai. I knew they were away. I went outside and very friendly said hi, are you looking for someone maybe I can help. He said no I just want to talk to them about their roof. Again friendly, (I was home alone that day) I said oh I don’t think that’s allowed here. He left. I did call community watch and was told there is nothing they can do about it.

You can either not answer your door OR if they come tell them you're not interested. We got a "No Solicitor's" plaque for our door. Boogey---you've lived here awhile so you should know the drill about this issue.
I remember when we 1st lived here though (it was a new neighborhood)---we had many who rang our door-bell. Lawn-care (???) people who'd show up for awhile then ghost us were common. We were told that the trust issue with service folks in this area is pretty much non-existent.....though now I'd not lump ALL of them into that. |

Understandably….. but these door knockers may be trying to locate homes with absentee snowbird owners. Sometimes leaving a biz card in the door jamb and checking back to see if still there??

Would do that with good looking females but they would never want to leave and my wife would not appreciate it so much. ![]() |

Answer the door while pretending to be cleaning and or oiling your shotgun. You’ll never see that companies representative again! It works!

Well when we lived in TV they said if they kept coming to solicit something more than once we could report it to TV & they would take care of it. So yes, go to the head office & file a complaint!

The Villages isn't a gated community...just say no thanks
post a sign if you want, but it's 50/50 they'll even notice it not much else that can really be done about it |
