It certainly gets counts up.

Just statistics - not a complaint - one poster has posted an average 8.24 for 17 years.
Another poster has posted an average of over 9 times a day for years.

How does one skip/ignore/suppress posts from certain posters which tend to be of little value or do I just skip quickly past them?

Click on "user settings" and then "edit ignore list". Add the poster to your list.

There are a handful who seem to be compelled to post over and over and over in just about every thread, with two main purposes - to argue even the smallest point into the ground, and to ensure everyone knows just how smart they are. Mostly ego-driven. Once you add them to your ignore list, reading through threads becomes much quicker, and far more pleasurable.

Don't think so, getting 3 a week on average. Today, had one called Apex. And, if you refuse to go to the door, they leave cards stuck in the door which is really awful for those on our block who travel a lot and others who do not live here full time. It sure gives an image of "the owners are not here, beak in if you wish". Wish it was not just allowed, especially leaving those cards which eventually fall and litter the entry porch if you are gone for a while !

While I can't remember ever getting a single one...

Our neighbor checks our house 1-2 Xs a week when we're gone. They check the front door, pick up any cards and the Homeowners Assn. newspaper that may be in out driveway...

We may have had one knock on the door and two cards in the five years we've been here.
