The softball fields are useless out on Morse. Nobody uses except maybe a ladies team. Guys don't like as they needed 4 fields not 2. Plus no snack bar for the guys and they like a beer after a nice game on a hot day. Even Lake deaton has to go all the way to Saddlebrook fields. Believe me, I know. And yes Fenney is isolated. You can sugar coat it all u want but I would Never recommend it. Not if your looking for activities

Yes, pack a lunch, take extra water, maybe a port-a-potty. A map and/or google maps won't do you any good as this is uncharted territory. After you have passed many covered wagons with The Villages logo (that is not a good sign- that many families abandoned their wagons after they wandered for 40 days) and just when you think that you are close to Orlando, there it is on the left. Don't blink. If you exit and go left instead of the way you went in, you will come out way down south on 301. Good luck.

Have some friends that lived in Buttonwood....when we purchased here in Hillsborough they thought we were crazy....how could we move so far south, didn't we know that everything happened between 466 and 466A? The same attitude will prevail toward those in Southern Oaks and Fenny. Then, in 5 yers or so they will have their own stuff, town square, golf, retail be perfectly happy, great clubs and facilities. It also seems that folks keep moving south. Why would people who lived in Caroline and Duval sell and move to Lake Deaton? Everyone gets to do their own thing here, but seems some want to influcence others. By the way, we have a bunch of softball players here and the absolutly love playing down here, they do wish there were more fields.....and they just might get them in Southern Oaks.

Really?? What teams play out there?? Rec league, neighborhood. Nope. I'm married to a softball fanatic. Been playing 10 yrs and knows all the guys and information on that. Nothing goes on in those fields for reasons I already stated. 2 fields was a joke. Want to live in Fenney? Expect 1/2 hr drive on a good day to get to Saddlebrook. And square?? Fenney getting one?? Or driving miles to get just to brown wood sq?

Crime happens anywhere.
There was a car-jacking at the Circle-K on 441, two years ago.

I moved here 2004. Does that mean I have more knowledge? I only wish that were true.

0nly been here since 2007, so I must be dumb as box of rocks. I liked Fenney. We have 5 people from our village moving to Fenney this month, looking for something different. Up north it takes us 25 minutes to get to a hospital, 20 minutes to a grocery, that's if I am not sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. I guess I am not afraid of driving in the dark. If you can drive in Detroit at night, and get home safe for over 40 years than Fenney will be a piece of cake. I just don't live in fear of what might happen, since I have no control, if it does

Good points. Plus there is a way of expressing your opinion about something without being so darn nasty about it, as if anyone else's opinion isn't worth a darn.

Instead of bashing others with a different opinion then yours, why not list the Positive aspects of living out in Fenney?

There have been many positives stated by various people. I think post 13 sums it up nicely.

That's good. It's nice in America when we can have different opinions and appreciate the fact that we can express our opinions. I listed reasons Fenney isn't for us. Others will like the isolation. Different strokes for ...........
