That is not being honest that is repetitive bashing.
BTW I have lived here 15 years.
Glad I got to read it before .....

I really didn't understand - "1\2 a day just getting to the activities" That might be a slight exaggeration. I get to Disney in an hour.

I like the first three lakes they put in where they only have homes on two sides which allows the view to continue well beyond the water. It's going to be nice to sit on the lanai and watch what wildlife these new features attract from month to month. There are large homes built as specs, ours has 4 bedrooms and 2600 sq ft with an extended garage, a few homes down has a full 4 car garage, across from that one is a nice sized home with a finished loft upstairs, across is one with 3 bathrooms, a few of them have pools. Most of the waterfront spec homes have large to very large lanais. Our favorite feature is gas cooking, on demand gas water heaters and gas dryer lines, that was a big selling point for us. Although we won't be back until mid July We are anxious to hear what other a entities they will be talking about at the opening next week. I think there will be a lot happening over the next few years. Still can't figure out exactly where Buena Vista is going to come in on 468.

I thinks it's more like 20 to 30 minutes than half a day getting to activities.
I think we all agree Fenney is an acquired taste.

Manabout town says "I love Fenney's bucolic feel, the walkways through the old live oaks. Also one can get relatively large (for The Villages) 4 br. 3 ba. homes there with great views, many over water. What's not to like?"

Sounds great to me.

A "dark, lonely road" is not dangerous. It's called a country road. Some complainTV is too crowded and some complain Fenney is too desolate.

Most of the negative posts were from the same member. Its like a little kid telling his Mommy I don't like something before he tries it. Sad way to live.

My motto:

'To Each Their Own'. or 'Que Sera Sera'.

Sure anyone can have their opinion - but to believe or state that THEIRS is the right one is superficial.

We have traveled thru TV's original section, northern sections, eastern sections, western sections, and southern sections. Appears that each one is populated well and that the residents are probably super happy where they are. Traveled down to Fenney, and the new 30-Villa community near Colony. So, not for everyone, but each will have its target audience and sell out. I kinda like the not-Cookie-Cutter aspect of the new areas.

Certainly DO like that TV is growing leaps and bounds and that more folks will move here and join us in experiencing our unique TV Community. A Community with diversity, inspiration, culture, and appeal.

To Each Their Own.

when I was driving around the neighborhood just before Fenny, I happened upon people who live there and they said....because of all the building and clearing The amount of SNAKES are horrific.

I am sure that will change when the area is completed, but for now .........

seeing one every once in a while is not bad but they are saying its all day every day, every where. She didn't mention what kinds of snakes, but to me a snake is a snake...

Same problem near LSL, including rats, 11 years ago. Problem solved itself after construction was complete.

i've only seen two snakes, one was at the sales office in Lake Sumter coming out of the landscape pine mulch and the other was behind our Lanai in the Village of Charlotte. They will eliminate any rats or mice that would be living around there however I don't like them or rats. As far as the surrounding roads being not safe, most of those people have lived there for decades and generations, there are some expensive homes mixed in with the bad ones. Are there some bad people living there, I'm sure there are however I would be more concerned about some of the laborers within Fenney itself working next door or across the street, I'm sure there are some nasty characters working labor in there somewhere and most likely the same situation when they were building other villages.

Thats a easy one. When you live in NJ and think about moving to Florida and are investigating all aspects of your possible new digs if snakes and alligators and bugs and the like don't come up on your radar then you're not checking deeply enough. Any where the ground is disturbed will stir up rats, bugs and I just learned snakes. I think knowing the snakes are here is important to know before you move here.

We were freaked out by the snake thing until we saw Sammy our black racer doing his thing across our front lawn. No big deal because I was expecting it. Mrs. Nucky didn't like Sammy to much.

Snakes or no snakes I believe we very well may be moving to Fenney. In the next several weeks I'm expecting to get the memo to start packing. We'll see.

.

There are a lot of people with differing opinions on this forum and most are genuine and not everyone can agree about everything, but the truth is that some of the people dissing The Villages are people selling homes in other areas or have some financial reason to put The Villages down. I don't think it's evil, but I think it goes on sometimes...(I am not speaking about THIS thread particularly, just overall)

AND

Sometime they are realtors who cannot sell new homes. I don't know why my post was removed. It only seems fair to point out, that sometimes outside realtors will try to steer you away from new homes. Villages agents can sell you new OR used.

I don't sell real estate. I enjoy watching how this place unfolds.

Just catch and eat them. They taste like chicken.

I live in the Historic District. I don't want to say that Fenny is far, but when we crossed over 44 we were required to chow our passports.
