Default Drunk neighbor on golf cart

Can Anyone make any suggestion on how to handle a drunk neighbor.
He is continuously drunk driving his golf cart to the courses and also in his car.
The other neighbors seem to think this is ok and he can live his life the way he wants, they say it is the villages get use to it.
Well some day he is going to hurt someones grand kids or another adult.
He is also very rude on top of it, not a nice person!

This is not a good situation, and no matter what you do, he will probably make you a scapegoat, if he finds out you are involved. However, if you know of any family or relatives, you could possibly let them know the situation, and maybe they could investigate. Calling the police will probably not produce any results unless they see the infraction, and I do not think the VCDD patrols will do anything either. I do not agree with the comment "it's the villages get used to it". I am guessing that this individual has no idea that his drinking is affecting his ability to drive, and I am guessing that there will be no way to convince him of this without professional intervention.

So that was my 2 cents, hope this helps.

I agree, there is alot of that in the Villages just look at what leaves the square and is on the golf courses.
Maybe this is why a yellow dividing line is being put on golf paths soon.

Been here 15 years and have never see "a lot of that on the golf courses".
What are you basing this statement on?

Can you possibly get a video of him in action?

Eventually, he will be caught. In the meantime, if you're worried about someone getting hurt, please be aware that there are more golf cart/car accidents caused by sober drivers who are just bad drivers.
I did a little research on all those golf cart fatalities and couldn't find a single one where the driver was drunk. People love to assume that every time someone weaves, hits a curb... they are drunk. Most of them are just being inattentive or bad drivers.
Not saying this is the case with your neighbor, just letting you know that you probably have more to fear from the sober drivers who've had their licenses taken away.

Look him up in the county court records to see if he has DUI and other convictions. If so, he might be driving the car with suspended or revoked license. People having that record do come here so they can drive a golf cart if they don't have a valid license. Call police if that's the case.

i do understand and i have witnessed him drinking and almost failing down a number of times bring is clear garbage bags filled of empty beer cans to the street on a weekly basis .
this is what caused me to pay attention to his behavior and he has almost caused a accident a number of times.
I guess i shouldn't assume he's drunk but i know how to connect the dots

See my last sentence. Wasn't saying that was the case with your neighbor.

It is perfectly legal to drink beer while driving on the golf course cartpaths. Not on the multimodal trails, but on the courses.

I'm assuming you are actually witnessing him consume multiple alcoholic beverages thru the day and taking off for golf or where ever and returning with an open container. I take it you observe his driving to be weaving, speeding, an overall failure to maintain the cart? I've been on a few golf courses and never seen anyone trashed. Occasionally you will hear a pop top. Golf is hard enough sober. Driving with an open container means you have a serious problem with alcohol.
