Don't you just wonder about stuff on this forum sometimes?

I am not doubting the OP or the advice. I am just saying that most of us would know what we would do. Discussing this on an online forum just wouldn't change MY mind.

Drink all you want at home, in your house, garage, yard as long as you don't enter the public right of way. Then you have a problem with me if I see you because I will follow you after calling the police until they catch you. I will not bother you as you have a right to consume alcohol but if you run traffic signals, blow through stop signs or hit the curbs or other lane then you are impaired.

I can't believe the ridiculous replies to this person. The rest of you must drive around with your eyes closed. I wonder how you would feel if your granddaughter Son etc. were visiting and this person who couldn't possibly drink 18 beers in an hour hit your loved one riding the bicycle on your multimodal Path . I would wonder how you would feel if your granddaughter Sun etc. were visiting and this person who couldn't possibly drink 18 beers in an hour hit your loved one riding the bicycle on your multimodal Path. go ahead keep minding your own business . I could go on but the mentality has suggested that I don't waste my time. Why don't you just ask a few the ambulance drivers.

Now, no matter what, the guy should not be drinking and driving and if he is doing so on a regular basis, he needs to be reported to the police.
He must think the colonoscopy prep is a breeze.

Don't make a fool out of yourself trying to be Magnum PI. It will only make the police take you less seriously.
And for God's sake, don't video him and call the police.
If it's bothering you that much, call the police and let them know it's going on. They may make the beat officer aware of it, but they're not going to stake out his house waiting for him to appear.
So you want a drunk to not be arrested if out driving a car on a suspended or revoked license. I think we all know who is making a fool of themselves here.

Exactly. Chugging a beer every 3.3 minutes for an hour straight? I'm not buying it. When you exaggerate one thing, it makes your whole post suspect. If you see him drunk driving, call the police. That is the right thing to do. Otherwise, don't concern yourself with what he does in his own home or what is in his trash.

If you drink 18 beers in one hour, your BAC (blood alcohol content) would be .36

At .35 you are unconscious and at .40 you are dead!

My dad used to say 'when the booze goes in, the brains go out'...During my drinking career I did a better job of hiding things. I couldn't attest to 18 in an hour..never liked beer too slow. Like an old hippie friend used to say..'moderation in everything...including moderation'. Just glad I got a handle on myself..

I guess people have taken this out of context and i am only worring about mine and my family's safety, have a nice day folks, this was not the outcome i was hoping for.
I was just looking for some advice on how to handle this.
Sorry if i offended some of you
OMG why are you people attacking this person.
They have only come to this post for advice.
Ok maybe 18 beers seems unrealistic, but i am sure the person wasn't watching a stop watch and wasn't right of the time or quantity.
maybe it was 12 in a hour or one or two of the beers is what they drank.
Either way something is wrong here on how your folks are treating this person.
Maybe the ones that are challenging this are also the ones driving around drunk also.
Just my two cents also grow up and hope it isn't your love ones that get hurt by a drunken driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put drunk drivers right along side texters, phonaholics, and driving while applying makeup. They are all equally dangerous to others' health. I don't think I have ever met a person that drinks, that hasn't at some time in his or her life, gotten behind the wheel to drive home. And drinking (not drunk) while driving is no different, IMHO, as eating while driving; and we all know how common that is. So quit hating on drinking and driving like they are all pedophiles.

I have the complete opposite problem; my neighbor does not drink, does not own a cart, and is an unsocial recluse that peeps out the window at the rest of us on the block...

Your neighbor must spend a lot of money on beer (drinking 2 gallons an hour), and a lot of time driving to get that much beer (to the house), surprised nobody has suggested he get a tapper in his garage fridge. That might prevent him from needing to drive as much, which could save lives.

Go to the Sumter Co. Sheriff's Dept. and let them know what is going on; it can be as discreet as you want it, YOU DID WHAT YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO DO TO KEEP A DRUNK OFF THE STREETS. I do not tolerate drunks in any way, especially driving, because I had to deal with the fatalities caused by them throughout my career.

If he stays on his property and wants to get so drunk that he passes out in his yard, let him do it; if he gets out on the street driving, turn him in.

Full disclosure, I may drink 1 six pack in a year; the last time I was drunk was in 1983 when, as a Trooper, I in a class on how to spot drunk drivers and how much alcohol it takes to get a person too drunk to function. And yes, I was driven home.

We have three town centers that offer free live entertainment nightly, have twofer drinks on the squares with people lined up 15 to 20 deep, virtually all of them arrived by cart. And then, they drive home. 99.9% of them make it home unscathed night after night. I'm more concerned about being taken out by a staff infection at the hospital, than from a drunk cart driver.
