I didn't do anything to establish domicile in Florida, but Virginia has never tried to tax my income. I am a Florida resident and do not live in Virginia. How is Virginia going to tax me? Can you please post this long checklist?

Make sure if you live in Sumnter County you go to Powell Road, if you live in Lake County which is where Newell is in you go to Leesburg DMV on Rt. 27

Why? It is not required. I live in Lake County, and I got everything done at the Powell Road office. I have never been to the Leesburg office. The DMV is a Florida state function and has nothing to do with the county that you live in.

You don't need to bring the vehicle or vehicles you are registering to the DMV, there is a 1 page form you can print out on the dmv website that allows any law enforcement officer to verify the VIN on the car is correct and they will accept that as proof at the "Gold Dome". I literally pulled up next to a Sheriff at McDonalds and asked him to sign it, he looked at the car and signed it. Took all of 15 seconds and he was super friendly!

You assume alot about cops. Since I was in Michigan it is not a pleasant walk for the DMV employees in Sumter County. it was a little easier then driving the car to Florida to register it. I said ANY law enforcement officer. including the one that I talked to at McDonalds who was helping a woman change her tire...not drinking coffee.
