Looking to connect with local Cessna drivers to discuss all aspects of aviation in the area. I am a 20 year private SEL pilot with instrument rating (not current) but with a fresh third class medical ready for refresher training and a BFR.
Interest in where to rent nice Cessnas and potential purchase of a nice 182. Would entertain partners in a 182 also. New member of TheVillagesAviation.com Club but haven't connected with many private pilots yet. Would love to hear from our local Cessna pilots, I know there must be more of them around than I have been able to locate. |

I'm not a pilot, but our son is a senior at Florida Tech and has his Private, Instrument, Commercial single and multi, along with his CFI, CFII and MEI. He has rented from Sun Air over at the Leesburg airport. They have Cessnas and Pipers that are in pretty good shape, and they do flight training so you should be able to do some refresher training and a BFR with them. Take a look at SunAir Aviation, Inc. ~ Leesburg International Airport (LEE) for more info.

10 years ago I sold my Cessna 182 Peterson Conversion and am not active. Had an Instrument Rating and had a ball when flying. Not sure I would have too much to offer and if I get too close to a small airplane I may get the bug again.

Here's a link to the Villages Aviation Club The Villages Aviation Club Home Index Page
I play golf with a neighbor once or twice a week. While golfing I've met one active pilot flying for DHL and several retired airline pilots in my 4-1/2 years of living here. I was once an air traffic controller so sometimes aviation comes up during the round. For those with deep pockets you may choose to retire in Ocala's JumboAir Estates like John Travolta. Here's a look at his place, he can taxi from the runway to his own home. Americas Premier Aviation Community ![]() |

I may be going from city of 11,000 with a beautiful airport (Grimes Field I-74) to a city of 110,000 with no airport. I have flown a Cessna 182 for over 23 years before switching to a 1976 Cessna 210. The 210 was sold several years ago in anticipation of the purchase of a house in Florida. I have been very fortunate to have owned a slow plane such as a Pietenpol for 11 years and a J-3 Cub for 20 years to compliment the fast one.
Nearing retirement, I must now make cuts and redirect my focus to other endeavors. However, I would love to fly the Cub to Florida if a few others would be interested in a partnership. I will be in TV for the months of January through March 2016 and maybe full time in 2017. Last edited by twoplanekid; 11-08-2015 at 07:42 PM. |
