I have three favorite spots to go in the evenings after din din and have a Manhattan and listen to piano music , One is the hotel in lake Sumter landing (very nice) but don't want to mention the other two as I don't want them crowded...( know what I mean )...
But here is a good idea that you can write down , GO TO BELLVIEW AND JOIN THE ELKS, Great place to go and dinner is very reasonable (very reasonable) and the folks are great .....(yes you can dance)
THE VILLAGES also has a new ELKS LODGE starting up and are in a building program.....

JUST A NOTE FOR YOU ELKS OUT THERE , OCALA HAS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ELKS CLUBS I HAVE SEEN THIS SIDE OF HONOLULU.....AND FIRST CLASS...........

I don't know whether I could say I "hate" the driving, but some drivers scare the Heck out of me. I also dislike blatant breaking of rules about lawn ornaments etc.

The only thing I wish is that I could find a place up north like TV, as I am a snowbird. Since you are from LI, I think you will fit in very well. If you crave a little privacy, try the courtyard villas. You'll get all the privacy you need and if you get a corner lot, you'll have more property. I don't know anyone who has a serious complaint about TV.

Gracie,

Where in TV did you see the lawn ornament laws broken? I think the historic side has a waiver from those rules but the rest of TV should be ornament free I thought?

In my area, but the lawn ornament police jumped on it right away.

I hate when people sign the covenants,or deed restrictions and then expect to be able to bend or break them as they see fit.
The rules aren't just for others, they apply to all who signed them.
My 2 cents.

graciegirl.... You'll have to admit that you were pushing the envelope a little when you put a half of bathtub with a frog in it on your front lawn................com'on be reasonable,
say, where did you get that tub anyway ?????

Fumar. You ain't right.

It wasn't half a bathtub. It was a whole bathtub and the frog was absolutely charming, you'll have to admit that. EVERYONE loved her little pantaloons. However, the danged Village Watch shut me down.

Now listen Mr. F. Everyone knows I am an obsessive rule follower. I am the first born.

Talking

By this thread I guess I better leave my 40 foot day-glo orange and blue yard sculpture of Cheech and Chong smoking a joint in Georgia.

Oops, I thing I just gave away too much of my past.

You would not want me living in your neighborhood, be glad I am far far away!
One reason I am on the historical side, I can make my front lawn look like a Garden store. shhhh tho, dont tell Bernie, one lawn statue at a time, wish me luck! LOL

Talk to the review board.....they might be into that.
Me, I'm replacing my lawn light with a statue of Jerry Garcia holding a lamp, sort of Statue of Liberty-like. I'm going to put a black light bulb in it to make Jerry glow.
