This is a hard one as we must have over twenty Christmas movies However, a few rise to the top..

Jim Carey in The Grinch
White Christmas
Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase
Die Hard Movies (though the only heart warming part of these movies is seeing the bad guys die in a spectacular form)
Love Actually - This is a great movie anytime during the year.

We're saving Love Actually for Christmas Eve this year. New one on Netflix this year called Jingle Jangle was very cute.

I'll agree with several mentioned already (Die Hard, White Christmas, Love Actually, It's a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th St w/Natalie Wood) and will add a couple of others:

Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol - a great rendition of this story that kids would like.

The Family Stone

Default Favorite Christmas films

I tend to prefer the classic films. Here are some of my favorites:

Christmas in Connecticut - with Barbara Stanwcyk - a real treat!
White Christmas
Miracle on 34th Street - the Maureen O'Hara version
Christmas Story
Love Actually - a more modern one
A Christmas Carol - the one with Alistair Sim

And a couple of under the radar ones:
Holiday Affair with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh
Remember the Night with Barbara Stanwyck and Fred MacMurray
It Happened on Fifth Avenue

I love Lady in the Lake, but it is hardly a Christmas film.

Default Favorite all year long

Meet Me in St. Louis. My favorite Christmas song is sung (beautifully!) by Judy Garland, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". Since it moves through every season, it's a great one any time of the year

Default Favorite Christmas Movie/Show

My all-time favorite is "It's a Wonderful Life," but my second choice is definitely "Scrooged" with Bill Murray!

The Gathering is an excellent movie and an all time favorite of mine. It actually starred Ed Asner (not Lou) and Maureen Stapleton. Not as well known as most of the other movies mentioned.

Default What Not To Watch

Quick comment - what not to watch.

The "White Christmas" episode of the series Black Mirror on Netflix.

It is a horror episode, very disturbing. Takes place at Christmas. One of the most horrible, worrying, nightmare producing things I have seen. The series is about tech distopia (mainly). Not all episodes are disturbing, most merely about interesting aspects of "tech-problems", but this episode was tied (with an episode called Black Museum) for the most disturbing episode, in my opinion. I think it is sad they gave people hope of something interesting to watch at Christmas.
