Default Hanging porch lamps suddenly falling to ground

We recently have had hanging front porch lamp (pendant lamps with chains) from 3 different homes on our street all suddenly falling to the ground and breaking.
We found corroded parts that hold the globe in place to the bottom of the lamps.
These homes are around 10 years old.
This is dangerous if someone happpens to be standing under them.
Has anyone experienced this?
Please post and also PM me.

These lamps when used outdoor should be treated like fans--the screws should not hold the weight --the globe and body should be support by the structure ,not the box and all fasteners when used outdoors should be stainless steel

all the fan duty boxes I have seen in our house are plastic--I replaced them with steel

This is not the screws, but the fixture itself.
The glass globe itself is suspended on a rod that connects to a bottom decorative flange that holds the globe to the fixture.
The decorative flange is the part that corrodes and breaks apart from the connecting rod.
It is the glass globe that falls from the bottom and breaks.
The chain and bulb itself are still hanging.

Get some stainless washers to reinforce the decorative flange, and stainless fixture nuts to go on the con-rod

There are some nice replacement ones on Build.com. Some as low as $45.

I am not trying to find a fix, as we have replaced our hanging lamp.
I am asking if anyone has had this happen to them as it has happened to 3 homes on our street.

Within last month or so, had three gravity type crashes in my house, all within a week ..First, a wall metal hook broke in two, crashing down a oil painting to the floor..
Within the week, a modest weighted wire shelf crashed onto the the garage floor.. Strangest of all, spice holding lazy susan in the bottom
cabinet snapped at the chrome pole....I heard all the crashes, another one! Oh no, what is going on? Looked around, nothing..Day two opened the cabinet, and found the broken round shelf..At the time, I could not help but think a strong gravitational pull, in the area , if such a thing...Maybe the sink holes, bring about an increased gravity pull, if that is possible...All this processing, before reading this O.P.......

Our house was 7 years old when the globe fell shattered glass everywhere. It sounded like a explosion. The inside was corroded.
Warranty department gave me the original installer. They agreed that it was corroded, company said it was from multiple power washing and water ran inside. Home was preowned so I could not dispute explanation. Replacement light, led bulbs, and installation was $287.00.
When Steve King painted our home this year, all lights were removed, there were no corroded parts. We were just glad the fedex guy was not standing there when it happened. Call warranty department to see who did install maybe you have better luck.
I am up north so I do not have the name of the original company. Sorry... Please do not PM me....every time someone does I get kicked out of TOTV for 10 days until mod can reinstate me.
