Sounds like a nice job for a retired bus driver.

From what I understand, the decision was Lady Lake's, not Morse, et al. to deny golf cart access. I've also been told that even street legal golf carts aren't allowed to cross Rolling Acres and can get a ticket if an officer is so inclined and that includes going to the Lady Lake Post Office, Home Depot and that shopping center. (I'm not swearing to this, but it was a Lady Lake Deputy Sheriff who told me this.)

Default Tickets for Street Legals

I also heard that story about sl cars being ticketed. No doubt its also illegal to walk across the street (Rolling Acres) as there is no official . Its quite a frustration being oh so close, yet so far away........ Thankfully I DO have a husband willing to take me in a car when I don't feel up to the golf cart challenge. Also, kind and generous friends will give me a chauffered trip to 441 when necessary. I prefer to be independant when at all possible.

Default LSV advantages....and cart access

We have a 'regular' cart at one of our rentals and a GEM car at another, non of which we use.

The LSV needed complete insurance coverage (which DOUBLED this year!!!) and a tag, so we assume a driver's license is required??

As far as access goes, the development company's overall master plan was very careful to make sure cart access does not connect to non Villages
properties.
Behind Walmart the speed limit increases to dis-allow carts.
The assisted living center and 'Southwestern-Style Church" in the Buffalo Ridge area struck some kind of deal to keep a gate closed for strict control.

The Synagogue on a huge outparcel on 101 has a 'secret passageway' off Talley Ridge through a deal with the Villages.

We'll ask our LSV Battery question in the Cart Forum

Default Larry and Linda - Kohls cart access

Thank you two, for the good information. I never say "never", and will hang onto the slim (snowball's chance in h*ll) chance that one day, shops on the Kohls side of the highway will be cart accessible.

there will not be golf cart access to properties that are not part of The Villages development. The only time to my knowledge that some sort of cart access was given to a property not part of the development was at Open Bible Church north of 466 over by Wal-Mart... even then it cannot directly connect to the main parking lot.

just think about how much complaining there would be if non-villagers were able to cruise around in golf carts, accessing cart paths paid for thru the amenity/vcdd funds...

They already do! Lots of carts come from Stonecrest. Easy 10 minute trip to Spanish Springs and beyond.

Red, that deputy must have been a rooky to have made those erroneous statements. Florida statute 316.2122 allows LSVs to cross those streets legally. In fact, because the posted speed limit on Rolling Acres Road is 35mph, an LSV can legally drive on it, not just cross it.

Of course that statue also allows a county or municipality to prohibit LSV’s from crossing or driving on certain roads for safety reasons, but if that had been done, the signs that say “No golf carts beyond this point” would have been amended to include LSVs.

Those are mostly Villages folk returning from Wally World, Bealls, Lowes, Aldi, etc etc etc.

Stonecrest folk drive their cars on the public roads that they help pay for in TV.

That may be true but there are also lots and lots of their carts on both squares nightly. All you have to do is look at the dirt road between 7 an 9 nightly.

Indeed, and those villagers are trespassing across private property owned by Mr. Ron Brown whose lavish home is nestled deep in the woods behind Lowes. TOTV members might want to think about that before accusing others of trespassing on their cart paths.

When I come into TV as I often do, I cross 441 onto Buenos Aires Blvd. by Lowes in my LSV. And it’s not to use TV amenities, it’s to access the hundreds of public stores, retail outlets, and medical facilities that line 441.
