Default Villages

No matter what a lot of people say, I am amazed with the planners for the Villages.

I watched the 17 minute video and there is definitely progress on the golf front. They gave no timeline on the new executive or championship courses other than the fact that they would start them (or one of them)as soon as they complete the putting and pitch and putt courses which were later this year. Should have one ready by 2024 hmm how old will I be then. I still haven’t played Southern Oaks so I still have something to look forward to. I do like the 18 hole course concept and two of the three championship courses planned are 18 and one 27. IMO the wave sucks. I forgot to mention the new driving range going in the new area. Should take some pressure off Sarasota

Watched a group of SIX golfers play Bonita Pass Friday night. Then a foursome with two pre-teens play next, with Grandpa. One walked through the sand trap to put a club back in the cart and walked through the same sand trap back to the green to putt. NO ONE
RAKED the trap, and NO AMBASSADOR IN SIGHT!! Then once they (group of six) could not see to play, they drove back on the cart path, over the grass to enter Triggerfish, over the curb to return home. What a mess.....

Was this after the starter shack closed and the ambassador left??? It's amazing what some people think they can do when no one is watching.

There are 5 new exec courses planned. Just a bit farther away in the timeline...

Someone posted a map showing where they were going to be...

My assessment matches yours. Not many Executive Courses to serve the high number of new homes being built in the South end of The Villages. The focus is on building Championship Golf Courses, Putting Courses and Pitch & Puts in lieu of Executive Courses. If I were a golfer looking to buy in The Villages, I'd be shopping for a Preowned home in the middle or the north end of TV so that I had convenient access to both Executive & Championship Golf Courses.

Like watching Tiger's son... That kid has a natural swing and bends with no problem.
My back hurts just watching these younger golfers swinging.

We’ll we don’t live in TV anymore but when we lived there that’s what the Snow Birds came to do. TV newspaper there used to say they scheduled tee times every 7 mins. on all the courses & some people complained they couldn’t get a tee time. But can’t believe how fast TV is growing that golfers fear the golf courses will slowly go away. Always said TV is a Disneyland for retirees! Better support it or people might start moving somewhere else.

VERY Disappointing - only 2 new executive courses. In the last golf update I thought it showed 5 new executive courses, now only showing 2. That will be 7 executive golf courses south of 44 compared to 13 north of 466, 16 between 466 and 466A and 7 between 466A and 44 with a big gap (lots of houses, no executive golf courses) between those above 44 and those below 44. Is that the plan now to minimize the number of executive golf courses?

What makes you think there is no support?

They were only talking about next year's development... There are still more to come...
