Never have we observed the gate attendant purposely stagger auto traffic to allow golf carts to cross over to the MMP. On occasion, automobiles will stop to allow a few carts to cross. Whenever I am driving a car north through that gate (which is not frequently since we use our golf carts almost exclusively) I always stop and let several golf carts through, because I know first hand what a pain in the butt that area can be and it’s the right thing to do. Typically, when I stop to allow carts to cross over, the car horns start honking at me. The more they honk, the more golf carts I let through, and the longer the horn honkers wait.
Wow. Passive aggressiveness is a great trait…not.

I use a motorcycle, I am a resident and I always use the visitor gate because there is no good place to put my card.

Most gate attended are very friendly and always wave or say hello. If you pull to there side of the gate they will always come out with there stop sign and make sure you get thru safely. You can't expect them to come over and pick up a dropped card and maybe get stuck between your car and the gate. To let you thru to pick up your card could be a problem if another vehicle comes up behind you.If you are handicapped or sick st on the gate attendees side of the gate,I am sure they will open it for you no questions asked.

Some just take their motorcycle around the end of the gate, where there is usually a gap(if the gate is unattended). It's easier than putting their bike in neutral so they can use their hand to wave the card or to push the red button. I have no problem with that, even though their tag is not photographed upon entry.

Default Simple Clarification

I dropped the Gate Card in the car and it fell between the seats which made it almost impossible to recover in a few minutes. I had lowered my window and asked the gate person to please open the gate as I had dropped my pass. He was standing in the door of the Gate house. As I asked him to open I moved a couple of feet forward believing he would open the gate. His response was a "smirk", shaking his head no and pointing to the box with the red button. This forced me to get out of the car and reach out and hit the red button and jump back in the car as the gate opened with cars waiting behind me. I was just returning from a round trip to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville after a rather short but emergency surgery of 2 hours. My first thought was to wish him the same pain he was giving to me and then realized that would make me no better than him. End of story and at time point maybe the end of that Gate employee's ability to bestow his anger on any more residents.

As an aside, he was smirking as he was shaking his head that he would not open the gate. We have been residents around 14 years and I have never had an experience like this from a Village Employee. I should add that I had just made a round trip to Mayo Clinic and was tired and not prepared for someone who needed attention at my expense. Please no lecturers on responsibilities. I really don't
need that right now!!!
So very sorry that you were put in that position. Some actions are hard to explain, but you were already stressed, so understand your frustration. When we rented a few years ago, the owner had no resident card, so we bought a potato masher in order to reach the red button. Also, understand that you can hold your card up to the window. Now that we've purchased, did have Ed Ingalls install the reader, so now there's no card at all. Please forgive this attendant who must need 'control' in his day. Most of them are really SO nice that it's easier to just 'forgive' someone to release the anger that you feel. Also, please get well and continue enjoying your life in TVs.

Why did you not pick up the card and precede as normal?? Sorry you were tired but if you were too tired to pick up a gate card, should you have been driving?

Chrome and metal can interfere with the signal strength. I have installed these chips successfully on side-view mirrors that have turn signal lights and even cameras.
What model vehicle do you have?

A hundred plus posts about an alleged angry gate attendant, including unending advice based on misinterpretations/misinformation of the event, and numerous diagnoses of his mental health based on one incident/observer.

Leave it TOTV!! Old age is not kind....I wonder how many of the posters have lost some critical thinking skills, suffer from their own mental health issues, and or have cognitive decline.
