Years ago, my mother-in-law had a white cook top. Seems to me the top yellowed after a while. They may have changed since then, but, I'd watch out for that.

I've had both....the white range had sort of a grey, speckled granite-looking surface and I loved it....didn't show scratches that are inevitable. Then, different house....gourmet kitchen and I wanted SS appliances...the range came with black cooktop.....it was beautiful for a while, but I use my cooktop A LOT and over time (7-8 yrs. now) it has scratches on it, but polishes up enough to still look good....still love my SS appliances and really wish they could do a speckled finish for those, but every SS brand that I've seen comes with the black. So, when we FINALLY sell our house here
