One of the real pleasures of living in TV is the ability to go almost everywhere in your golf cart. This is one of the things that distinguishes TV from other retirement communities.

I understand that accidents happen. They happen to walkers, bikers, drivers of golf carts, drivers of cars, people climbing ladders, etc. etc. It's up to each individual how much "risk" we wish to take as long as we don't injure somebody else. This has been the "American way". I for one vote to keep it this way without government interference.

I find as I become older, I am taking more risks; more risky activities, not necessarily careless behavior. I feel that if I go now, I had more than my share of good living. Over 5 years of retirement living which is more than anyone could ask for. Riskier activities do have that adrenalin factor that makes one feel alive. More oldsters should try it. Look at Bush senior sky diving at 80 something. If people want a 30 mph golf cart, enjoy. Have fun. Some people drive cars on BV and Morris that have the capability of going 180+ mph. Doesn't mean they go that fast, but every once in a while maybe they do 100 or so on a country road.

For the most part, yes. But no one lives in a bubble. I mean, drinking a beer while you drive home from work could technically put others at risk because the act of drinking a beverage while driving could be a distraction...but who doesn't do that, right?

All I can say is...I don't do higher risk activities as I age that put others at a higher risk. Sounds like you can only say that "for the most part".

Wasn't a number of the deaths due to a automobile hitting the golf cart no matter who's fault it may have been. Could this mean autos and carts cross paths to many places. I don't know just saying.

Yes; technically speaking. It is much more common than you may realize. A good example is the situation whereby the grandparents drive their illegal golf cart over 20 mph with their grand kids with no seat belts. Or worse, they let their 10 year old drive the cart. Or the oldster that finally bought his Corvette and every once in awhile opens it up even though his/her reflexes are diminished.

The bad injury last week was caused when a golf cart driver drove into a tree. No one else was involved.

As far as a decrease in accidents if everybody crawled down the road, going too slow is also dangerous as well.
