I have a kill switch discreetly installed.

One issue is it’s so easy to put the cart in neutral and tow it.

GPS tracking is the only determinant.

Well not exactly GPS tracking, an apple airtag or similar can provide location information. I have seen actual GPS trackers but it appears most of these require some sort of monthly(?) payment. An alternative would be a well-hidden alarm system, that makes a lot of noise, or a two way one that alerts you to the possible theft of the golf cart. Both of these types of alarm systems are available for cars and motorcycles (12 VDC).

AirTags have anti-stalking built into them.

If the Airtag is following someone with an iPhone it will alert them.

Maybe GPS trackers on Amazon may not have the anti-stalking feature but like you said it would be a subscription.

I like the alarm idea.

Crazy, Yamaha and others sell a golf cart(with nothing on it) for +/- 11k and not a unique key for each cart.

You could buy a boot for your golf cart. That way the only way they can even tow it is with a flatbed tow truck pulled up to the cart. And no one is going to go to the trouble to steal a golf cart that they have to go to MORE trouble to remove the boot after they get it to their destination.

You can get them on Amazon for under $30: Sorry! Something went wrong!

A while back there was one in the medical area parking lot of Laural Manor with a boot on it for quite some time.

Did you get your golf cart back? I'm wondering how you made out. So sorry this happened to you. the Sheriff's statistics for Sumter County say approx 10 golf carts are stolen in Sumter County each month.

Good luck. My first cart was stolen at Brownwood a few years ago. Never recovered it.

I have one of these just tucked away inside the cart. If you even touch the cart the alarm sounds- loudly. 20 bucks. https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Anti...zcF9hdGY&psc=1

Great idea! And 10 carts a month starts to add up!

Another great idea is to remove the question mark and tracking ID information after the question mark when you copy and paste the link

When I got my 2023 Yamaha I was told I can only get a replacement key with the dealer which does have a unique number but I agree a 10 year old can file a key down to fit these ignitions.

The tire lock idea might be difficult for older people to lock & unlock, perhaps having to get down on the knees to perform the locking/unlocking. Has anyone experience with the steering wheel locks?
