Also aside from the money, I also thought I'd be running around way too much to need the view. I soon intend to build a small birdcage with a hot tub, and surround it with shrubs for some limited privacy off the back of the house.. We may even go with one of the privacy screens with a picture of something on it.

That's a cool idea. We've been thinking of a hot tub as well - really enjoyed ours when we were up north. With the right type of privacy screening, you could even go skinny dipping!

A new meaning to "Skinny Dip Saturday Nights"? Hum, something new to TV? I doubt it.

Just got around to looking at this thread. Sorry Kate, but I had to ask. Did you mean that the cost of a golf view was out of the range on the income of a hooker? Not casting aspersions at all, but I was a tad confused -- a common state for me.

As for preference for the golf course view, it is absolutely an individual choice. Many people seem to me to be almost anal about "privacy" and hate the closeness of the homes here. I agree more with a previous poster who commented that she loved to see activity. She/he loved seeing the golfers go by. Though I too really enjoy a quiet view of a lake or field (preserve or fairway), an ideal location for listening to some good jazz or light classical while musing over the foibles of man, I much prefer to sacrifice those rare moments to regularly seeing my neighbors walk their dogs or just congregate in the street. Wish I could afford that gorgeous home on Riley Grove, but I'm real happy with my end unit ranch where my back door neighbors have put in a park-like setting on their end lot.

I know there are scores of people who opted not to spend the extra bucks for the golf course house who now regret it deeply. And I'm equally sure that there are also scores of folks who would gladly trade their golf course house for an interior and the money. C'est la vie.

Hi Muncie,

I am frequently confused myself.

It appears that I have, through unintentional poor writing and punctuation, caused two posts to come together. That would be this thread and the one of rumored hookers (i.e. those of "the oldest profession") in the squares.

On that other thread the Great Fumar and I, both owned up to a hooking problem - that has nothing to do with the oldest profession. In my case (as I would not wish to cast aspersions on Mr Fumar) it relates to a lack of talent on the golf course.

So while my post was intended to say that I wanted a home out of range of those little white balls that fly in unexpected directions when golfers with my challenge step up to the tee, I can see your confusion.

Not sure what the "ladies" in the square might be able to afford!

Kate
