It's been awhile since I was there, but the Hyatt Grand Cypress near Disney had a Nicklaus-designed course based on the Old Course at St. Andrews. I would imagine it's pricey, but I remember it was a spectacular place to play.

Again, I really don't think the OP would consider an executive course a "great" experience. And it's beyond me why anyone would travel and pay to play an exec when there are 44 of them here for free. And has anyone considered there's a reason you don't need a tee time

Actually, the irony is that it is called the "new" course. Jack's tribute to St. Andrews.

Ocala National. Have one hole about 600 yds straight up hill. Great price. North n west of Ocala. No far. Put in GPS.

Went there 15+ years with friends for a golf week end. Beautiful accomodations. New owners took over and villas are not there any longer. Hope it is still as good as it was. "New" Course was interesting and was a fertilizer salesmans wet dream. Have never seen so much grass on a golf course.

Disney courses, especially Magnolia. They give Orlando city rates to Villagers and possibly a senior discount.
