Not true. It is permissible for a 14 year old to drive a golf cart.

And do you have any idea how many adults here drive carts without having a license? Some are legally blind, some have lost their licenses, and others never got one. I personally know at least one in each category - and there are probably other categories as well.

I think it would be 2. Mydog's 9 but not great at driving golf cart yet. Zero attention span.

You should thank the gate guard for caring enough to yell at him.
He can drive a cart at age 14 according to Florida State law, right? So what exactly would I be thanking the guard for? Her ignorance?

No, we don't want the sights and sounds of infant or toddler bones or an eight-year-old's skull under our car wheels when they fall out from riding-standing in the golf bag tray in back, or from dopey Grandma/Grandpa holding onto 2 little ones in the passenger seat with a "legal" 14-year-old driving and he hits a curb or deep gutter grate and the little ones go flying.

Who would want to live with those memories, regardless of whose fault it is!???!??

Those who allow children to drive their cart, think they can do no wrong. Let's hope angles smile on those children who have zero guidance.

Don't know if its true, because I heard it second hand-A few years ago a grandfather nicked the curb, his grandchild was thrown from cart & killed--supposedly it was in the neighborhood adjacent to the Fishhawk rec Center

Nobody is required to have a license to drive a golf cart. It is required that the driver be 14 years old or older. From what I heard, the owner of a cart that has a driver under 14 can be cited and the driver can have a notation put on their record when they do get a drivers license of a violation.
