Default rude construction crew

I am sorry to have to vent about this but I am wondering if I am the only one this has happed to. I just came thru the gate at Sanibel and at the same time entered a group of young 3 men in a truck pulling a trailor of some kind who stopped to gain entry thru the visitor side. They spoke to the women at the gate house. The pole went up for me first and I started thru the gate and their gate went up and then they cut me off almost pushing me over to the side. I had to stop and I put my horn on and they all turned around and laughed about it. I know they saw me enter the road ....Most of the time our construction workers are respectful and polite but this has happend to me twice now... What do you all think ???

It's not just construction crews. It happens at every double gate in TV. Let it go.

Our house is a block off of Pinellas and starting about 6 in the morning it's like the Indy 500 coming from the east end headed west. And two thirds of them don't have mufflers on their trucks. Rule of thumb. . . . . . . don't get in their way. One of these days they'll all be gone.

If they're in a hurry to get to work or leave it, let them ahead and out of the way. Retired people don't need to be in a hurry. Yes, they are rude and those types can rarely be reformed. It's just part of the experience of living.

as in any unpleasant encounter you are talking about the 1% rude, crude and inconsiderate residents and workers....so just remember the other 99% which deserve the recognition.

Fagedaboutit....you ain't gonna change the 1% who don't care.

Those things can be expected and it should roll off your back. Of course, if you did not want construction workers and on-going construction, there was always the option to buy a re-sale home in an established community in The Villages.

Why NYC? Because they are the worst drivers. Ever hear of a turn signal,Think I will go there now.Think anyone would let you merge into traffic, forget it. Thats some reason why. Also they do not know how to drive if they go faster than 5 MPH.

Default Take it all in stride

Can't blame you for ranting. As you spend more time here, you will discover more inconsiderate people. They are everywhere in the world. But.......generally everyone here is very friendly. There are jerks everywhere and the construction people follow none of the rules, it's just what happens here. They will eventually be gone and we can enjoy our villages. As we were exiting the gate from Sanibel approaching the circle by the firehouse, a car coming from the blocked off area of Morse, (not a construction vehicle) came to the circle and proceeded to drive straight through it. Never paused, slowed down or looked. If we hadn't been alert, we would have been T-boned. Everyone, please be careful on the roundabouts. As snowbirds come in, traffic is getting heavier and more people forget the rules. Don't assume anyone is going to merge or stay in their own lane. Now is the time to drive extra defensively!!!

I agree with Wing-nut2, and I always will given his background. The landscaping crews are the most frequent abusers of manners anywhere, anytime.
