Default Fresh Market new rules for shopping

I shop all our local grocry stores and this morning had an email from Fresh Market setting up the new rules on how to use their stores .............

ALL employees will be wearing masks
ALL customers must be wearing masks
Limiting the number of customers in the store at one time
Special sensible hours for seniors
Relaxed evening shopping hours
Two cart lengths between customers

We are lucky to have great stores with excellent managers and workers. Thanks to all.

Also, if anyone has masks or knows someone who is making them, please donate to local stores, many employees do not have masks and can't buy them. Thanks

You can make up to three masks with a single woman's medium tee-shirt, with just a pair of scissors. No sewing, no rubber bands or hair ties.

I'm dreading the moment when it will be required, I have enough of a hard time breathing as it is. Deviated septum has one nostril closed - the other is narrowed due to chronic allergies. Covering my nose and mouth with a mask makes me feel like I'm in a coffin. It's terrifying and I hate it.

But if it's required, I'll do it and I've put one in the golf cart, one in the car, and will keep one in my purse just in case.

There is also a tutorial on Youtube to make masks out of socks. I saw one on a friend's FB page. NOT as professional looking as a sewn one but serves the purpose. Also saw a similar tutorial on how to make them from tights. I'd say measure your face as we found not all masks are the same due to head sizes.

Thank you for the thanks! I do work in the healthcare field. It is warmhearted and humbling to see the kindness of those who appreciate us. My work has received kind food donations and a local café had a very generous, anonymous donor pay for coffee beverages for team members where I work! Can't go in the café but with a call ahead or stand outside the door, a beverage is free from the thoughtful person who provided this great gift. So thanks back to the folks who have given back, it truly does work both ways. Thank you!

I have no strong enough words to express my thanks to these people who work and put themselves out there so that we may eat and have our supplies, I am very, very grateful.

I dusted once. It came back.
I'm not falling for that again.

I haven't left my house in weeks. Last week I cancelled my cleaners as I'm too afraid to let anyone in my house. I sent a check and paid them anyway. Not their fault there's a pandemic.
Ordered face masks from Amazon but they cancelled it.

You might try check checking etsy.com for cloth face masks. I ordered some cloth masks from a lady here in suburban Chicago. Haven't tried the mask on yet as I haven't left my house (in suburban Chicago) for the past 8 days.

Default Keep This In Mind!

Copied from a good friend who works in Shoprite.

“Keep this in mind, please: grocery store cashiers are scared xxxxless of you right now. We are scared of your casual coughs, we are scared of your potentially asymptomatic yet contagious children, we are scared of you. We don’t find your jokes amusing, “haha I’m supposed to be in quarantine right now.” It’s not funny. It’s absoxxxxinglutely terrifying.

You feel anxiety when you go into a store for 20 minutes? We are spending our entire work week at that level of anxiety. Unhappy we don’t have your Ancient Grains bread? Ok. Confused as to why there’s no tofu? Ok. Can’t believe there’s no kosher chicken? Ok. Here’s the thing: we know, it’s frustrating. But. Keep. Your. Frustration. To. Your. Self. We are already stressed out enough.

We smile, we say hi, we don’t scream when you cough. We don’t run when you stand too close. We don’t punch you in the face when you stand in our space, expecting us to bag for you while you joke about how, “wow this is basically the only place to go now that everything is shut down...”. And yes... we are thrilled to be getting a paycheck. However...

We don’t want you telling us we should be thrilled to be getting a paycheck. Say thank you to the next cashier, stock person, cleaner you have. Look them in their actual eyes and say, “Thank you.” You’re able to get food because we are working. And we are scared. Keep this in mind today.”

Your post is outstanding. I did say thank you on Friday to every Publix employee I encountered.
Because of them, we eat. You nailed it ! ❤️
