PEOPLE, PEOPLE, PEOPLE......just pray for the victim and respect her privacy. FACT: your living in the Villages, the Developer, Mr. Morse has built a beautiful and wonderful place for Retirees but the gates are a TOTAL faade.....there is NO SECURITY HERE...you have to get your own!!! FACT: Mr. Morse owns ALOT of the so called "independent" commercial businesses including the bank AND the Daily Sun. The Morse's goal is Sales, Sales, Sales. Just like we do not EVER have Democratic or Independent campaigning here despite the fact that MANY of the residents HERE are, the Morses "control" a lot!! Do you think news of violent crimes breaking out (just like the news of STD's would help the Sales nationally???...NOT..... your better off getting the Orlando Sentinel delivered to your house for "unfiltered" news..

No shortage of Dems here, not sure why they don't campaign much here, I will assume they don't feel they would get the return for the money and effort. How many people do you know first hand that have contracted STD here in the Villages? |

When this first came up, people were demanding details and rather pointedly saying that the police weren't forthcoming. The reality is that often the police *don't* know instantly what happened and want time to investigate and trying to make sense of things. Demanding that they keep everyone informed is not exactly a good way to (1) let them determine the facts and (2) respect the privacy of the alleged rape victim.
It is not unusual for a victim to give confused stories and to change the story as it is retold, especially after trauma. It would be much more troubling if nothing changed in the retelling - then it would look much more like a "story". At this point, I'd suggest that we let the police do their job and let this poor lady have some privacy. Amazingly, I saw much more compassion for the "sex on the square" lady than I am seeing for this woman. |

why would someone make up getting raped? attempted or otherwise....
people scrutinize so much....... knowledge is power and for my thinking I need to be reminded that we are not in Disney world like some would have us believe, this is the real world and I want to know what to look out for and where to be careful by hearing of other peoples experiences. |
