I'm with the Non Honkers. I find it distracting when people honk ... to me it's a way of informing other drivers that something is wrong.

Oh, please, no honking - very annoying and a bad idea. Jimmie

I think it's a good idea to honk when entering or especially when exiting. My wife had a close call in the tunnel crossing Buena Vista by Turtle Mound. She was coming out heading west and a cart entering almost ran into her because they were way over into her lane. And these people look at you as if you are at fault. I will start honking when I return later this month.

How about whistling a happy tune?

What if the person is deaf? They won't hear ur honking! Then what? Start flashing ur lights or flapping ur wings? People need to drive correctly and stay in their own lane. That is the only thing that will resolve this.

And given that that will NEVER happen 100% of the time one must take what action they can to alert a dangerous driver of YOUR presence at the end of a tunnel.

I didn't work hard and save hard all those years to be crippled by a who is too lazy to make a proper turn without coming into my lane.

If you are reading this and you're one who doesn't stay on your side of the road when entering/exiting a tunnel WHY DO YOU DRIVE THAT WAY???

Do you think an accident will never happen to you?? IT WILL EVENTUALLY...then how will you feel if you plow into a golf cart with Grandma and her grandkids in it and you see them fly out of the cart and get hurt, maimed, or killed. There goes any happiness they or you will have in retirement.

Be safe, a little beep doesn't hurt anyone...

Thank you. I feel the same way. I thought I was leaving the crazy drivers back in NY. I came down here to enjoy retirement not to wind up in a golf cart crash. And if you think I am driving too slow GO AROUND, I am not speeding up because you are late for a round of golf!
