Just replaced ours for $700. It was $1000, but with a Seco rebate it was reduced to $700. Check Mike Scott Plumbing (352) 478-9188. When you call to check the cost and set up an appointment, mention that you would like the Seco rebate. Installation went very smoothly.

Tankless water heaters will not provide hot water to your tap faster. They are better if you are seasonal since they only use energy when you use hot water. They also never run out of hot water since it is continuing to make hot water as long as there is demand. You're not limited to 40 or 50 gallons of hot water.

Here's a link of what Lowes has in stock in Trailwinds in 40 and 50 gallon electric tanks, most are between $300 and $400. I use Kiley and Sons for plumbing, they charge by the hour. Yes, they install something you buy yourself, I had them install a sink in September I bought at Home Depot. They charge by the hour, two years ago I had them install a new disposal, the hour rate was $100, he did the disposal in 30 minutes so I had him fix two other items in the remaining time. Here's the sink they just put in. He had removed the old sink and faucet, cut the countertop with a jigsaw, close off one drain and change the disposal from the old sink to the new sink, install this professional faucet, that's not granite but the original formica, took him about two hours, I wouldn't even attempt that myself even with the help of youtube.

I was just quoted $750 installed by my plumber with a $250 rebate from TECO, so net to me, $500.

We have the tankless water heater available through TECO People’s Gas. They offer a high quality system, installed, and add a small monthly charge to your bill, we found the total price to be extremely reasonably. We get hot water nearly as fast as we did with the old tank type heater, but you never run out of hot water. Nice when guests all shower in the morning, if that ever happens again.

Jody, because you said TECO, I assume you were quoted a price to replace a gas water heater with another gas water heater. That being said, if you look at the TECO web site the rebates are either $350.00 or $400.00 - one is for a standard heater and the other is for an energy efficient heater (the one I got at LOWES was energy efficient and cost approx. $450.00.) I got the $400.00 rebate..... there is no $250.00 rebate but..... if I remember correctly there is a place on the rebate form to have the TECO check sent to you or the Contractor. Tell him you want the check sent to you. They should fill out the form for you and let you sign and mail it in after reading it carefully.
