You mean people actually pay high priced stupid green fees, on the developers land,
to hit a white ball, then chase it for hours, and get to cuss?
WOW!

Somebody is either having a really bad day or they just don’t like golf. Oh well, time to go, live coverage of the Masters just started on CBS. Golf on : )

I'm constantly amazed at those who complain about living on a golf course.

Exactly what did you expect when you bought the lot?

My wife had a friend who sold her beautiful home in Marsh Bend after a year because she was surprised that they would be mowing the course and playing golf early in the morning...

Really? That was a surprise?

BTW, my wife met her while taking lessons at the Golf Academy...

Yep. They call it GOLF because all the other four letter words were taken! Hopefully golfers have switched to using the relatively new “local rule” that allows one a “drop” between the estimated point the ball went OB and the nearest part of the fairway (no closer to the hole) in lieu of hitting another off the tee. You are hitting your fourth shot from that spot. Still a good reason for expletives

All the championship courses and most of the executives have well placed bathrooms on the courses but when nature calls and you have a foursome moving like a herd of turtles in front of you a shrubbery starts looking pretty convenient

As far as I can tell, they have not started building them. For those of you who have been here for several years, how long does it take from starting to build a course to opening day? Same question for Executive and Championship courses. Thanks.
I watched the Villages video that interviewed the gentleman that is in charge of the course construction ( I think his name is Ezell). He stated the crew would build one and then move right to building the next one. They are starting with the pitch and play and putting courses so don’t get impatient. Sounded like one team building all

I know the new ones by The new Sawgrass square were started less than a year ago and they are almost completed. Here in Florida it’s a lot quicker than others.

There are two Championship, one Executive and two pitch n put in work now (mostly ground clearing and sculpting at this point in time.) And at least three more Exec's announced in planning.

Where else is anyone building golf courses, much less multiple golf courses?

Being able to add $150-$300k profit per homesite with a view is a huge motivation.

I don't know exactly, but a review of Google Earth shows construction on Southern Oaks hadn't begun yet in November 2019, and the course opened in November of 2021. So that one appears like it took a little under two years.

Most new houses on a golf course in the new area now start at $500,000. Just the lot costs for a great view are now $250,000 to $325,000. The average Veranda or Designer homes with a view lot start at $650,000.

Wow nice to look out and see a golf course but for that kind of money will pass.
