Default I'm Continuously Amazed...

Amazed at the number of people who seem to be miserable living in TV yet choose to remain...

If I was that unhappy living somewhere, I'd leave skidmarks... (no, not THAT kind... )

I agree, and I feel the same way about people who constantly complain about this beautiful country too. You don’t like, find where you want to live somewhere else in the world. That’s what my parents did. They came here.

My mother was like that. She was never happy with anything or anyone including herself. She was quite difficult to live with so I left home and joined the Army as soon as I could just to get away from her and her negativity.
You can give some people a $100 bill and they will complain that is green and wrinkled, why wasn't it $200, why didn't you give it to me last week, when can I expect the next $100, what are you wanting from me, and I'll bet you want me to appreciate it.

Some people are not happy unless they are miserable about everything, they try to suck the life out of everything. If we were miserable we would sell and stay up north. We happen to love being in The Villages and wish we could be there more. Just sitting in the house doing nothing is better than being in the cold weather but we are usually out and about on the golf cart.

You are assuming they would be happy elsewhere. Those who dislike their environment changing addresses may not make a difference. One of in-laws hated their up north home, too cold.. then hated their Florida home, too hot. Moved to Midwest, too hot and too cold. Some can’t ever be happy no matter what is outside their window

I’ve met people who had miserable lives. They tend to take it out on anyone who might listen and are so negative. They can’t see good in anything.

I can’t be around people like that. I can’t fix them and they emotionally drag others down with them.

Talking Turn Negativity Into a Positive

Nothing in this life is 100%, be it good or bad. There are many accolades that fit the lifestyle of living in TV, but is it perfect? Of course not and far from it. While much of the negativity is true we can still benefit from it by trying to make whatever it is better.

The simple change in someone's lifestyle from moving from a completely different environment can be traumatic for some. But telling them to move somewhere else is disgraceful and about as negative as one can get!

Aside from this topic being mostly trolling and clickbait I have found that to be a general mantra around here. Comment that one doesn't like this or that the response is "if you don't like it, move." Evidently the only way to live here is you have to drink the Kool-Aid and accept everything as it is UNLESS the other person agrees with your complaint THEN it's OK to not sell.

Any YES, moving from the northeast has been traumatic. 5 years next week and I still can't fully adjust to some of the stuff around here both regarding the location and the population. A lot of the good overrides some of the bad but some of the bad is just bad. There were things where I lived previously for 60+ years I didn't like either. One learns to overlook the bad most of the time.

Telling someone to move if they are unhappy is for their own benefit. They need to give themselves that option too. Why would they want to stay where they are miserable? One life, it might as well be the happiest one they can have. (Unless, of course they chose to be miserable, always find something to make themselves unhappy.)

The trauma of change can be likened to growing pains, part of getting to something better.

I'm from the north east (NY born and raised and left as a young adult for south Florida), NJ for 16 years in between living in Florida). There is nothing I miss from the NE other than family. Well......one more thing I miss is the tremendously wonderful feeling of the first warm spring day as we defrosted from the frigid winter. Sometimes we actually had a 50 degree day or two in February and that was glorious too.

Back to The Villages........I can not think of one thing I do not like about living here. This is paradise for me and hubby. He complains a lot about the hot summers but the hot temperatures and high humidity don't bother me at all, especially when I spend most of my time in air conditioned spaces.

Yeah but it’s hot in the Summer, crowded in the Winter, I can’t get a tee time for my group of 32, service at the country club restaurants is poor , a dog peed on my daisies, grandpa clipped me in a roundabout and the local car dealership is run by a bunch of crooks. Move (hmmmm) , never thought of that

I think that those with nothing better to do than read/comment on for forum (like me right now) are bored complainer types.

A Lot of the negative-nillies don't live in TV.

They do not admit this because they will really be hammered by residents.

Keep in mind, there are only about 100 total posters on this site..................out of 150,000, not a representation.

I'm amazed by the number of people that are amazed at the number of people who seem to be miserable living in TV yet choose to remain...

My favorite campaign....far too often the isolated incidences are presented as general conditions.

....but the statement above attests to the stark reality.
