I think the 3-day law was passed a few years ago, shortly after a mass shooting in Florida.
The three day waiting period does not apply to persons that have a concealed carry permit.

If the sellers are not observing the three day waiting period or checking to see if the buyer has a concealed carry permit, they are breaking the law.

And why would they be on open display? Isn't that how items are sold?

in 2021 I purchased a Hell Cat from a large gun shop and range in Sarasota. Took almost an hour for the background check to come back, but I walked out with it. I believe the waiting period does not apply to CWP holders. (Thank you poster two above. Confirmed)

OP, you could be fined for shooting a gun in a Village neighborhood. My advice, let nature take its course.

Is perfectly legal to sell a firearm in a private transaction between two individuals. I would have a Bill of sale & the serial number listed on it.

Not true. It’s perfectly legal for private transactions between two people in the state of Florida. No background check or waiting period required

Correct. But what will happen after July 1, when you no longer need a concealed carry permit?

I know hyperbole when I see it.

In fact, your post brought back a memory of a cleverly staged prom picture of a friend’s daughter, posing with her date for pictures before leaving the house.

There they were — the teenage couple, all dressed up for the first prom picture……

That picture of her and her date included her 3 brothers and her dad. Her dad was holding a shotgun. One of her brothers had a pistol. There was a brother holding a chainsaw, and another one had an ax.

It was a very funny picture.

i don't know if this will help you or not, you've probably tried some of these things already.
Protect Backyard Birds From Hawks

if all else fails, maybe try 'adopting' the hawk as a 'pet' & feed them other goodies in order to leave your babies alone? idk, ...good luck

Same happened to me but the Hawk grabbed the bird from a tree. I heard the commotion and told my husband to chase the hawk away he did not and it got the bird. After the wrath of his angry wife I can assure you he will not allow another one to hang out on our property. Just bang pots they will fly away. Nothing you can do if they just swoop down to grab the bird, small squirrel, rabbit or even a small pup. It is the Circle of Life. If you are in the Villages I would not fire off a shotgun unless you want to be in the Village News the following day.

Residents still have the option to have a permit.

There are two reasons that some might want to. One is just what we're talking about here. There is no waiting period when purchasing a firearm. The second is that Florida has a reciprocal arrangement with 38 other states that allows permit holders to carry in those states. That will only apply if you have a permit.

If I was going to buy a gun , I sure as hell would not rely on any if the above 70 posts to know how to do it legally.

I just wonder how long Florida will keep the concealed carry permit system in place, if you don't need a permit in Florida. It seems like an unnecessary expense.

If they are selling guns at a flea market, they are violating the law that requires firearm dealers to be licensed. I don't think it would be considered a private sale between two people.

I would imagine they will keep it forever due to reciprocity with other states. If you don’t have an actual CCW you won’t be able to carry legally in most states outside of Florida that currently recognize our permit.
