People complained about their ins rate increases this year, wait until Hurricane Adalia gets factored in next year!

some major carriers will not write policies through brokers, my broker suggested I check directly with State Farm, Progressive and Allstate and a couple of others like KIM

We went to Kin insurance. They were about $1800 for the home but less than $300 for the flood. I still don't get it, a $2500 difference for the flood quote. Anyhow, Kin has been pretty good customer service as we sign up.
Check the coverage of both policies. I expect you will see the difference in coverage. Also check on responses to claims!

Citizen

required flood insurance

Homeowners with Citizens upset over mandatory flood insurance in non-flood zones

Garst said she was dropped from her first insurance company due to an older roof.

Her most recent bill with Security First went from $1,800 last year to $3,900 this year.

“I said that's crazy,” Garst exclaimed.

In September, her insurance agent got some quotes from different companies.

“Edison was over $6,200, Florida Peninsula was $5,000, Citizens at that time was $2,300,” Garst said as she showed ABC Action News the printout.

My 2022 Hyundai Tuson insured with USAA cost me $660 for 6 months. I got a $177 Earned Safe Driving Discount by using the USAA SafePilot app. The app has saved me over $300 in the past year.

What home insurance companies are left in Florida? Are they writing policies for new owners? Can/will my realtor help out with getting a policy, or should I reach out to an insurance broker directly as I am looking (and if that's the case, any recommendations?)

Thanks!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh good luck with that. It was difficult last week but may be impossible now

Please tell me what company and what broker (if you went through one.). PM is OK if you'd rather.

Thanks.

Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis on Hurricane Idalia and the state's insurance crisis
Access Denied

According to Florida CFO Jimmy Patronis, there will be several more companies entering the market after the hurricane season in October. May have better rates then if there is no more major storms.

Let's hope with closing loopholes for trial lawyers and more competition, rates will come down.

Call the Allstate down below. I had ASI they upped my Ins. $2000 bucks after 13 years no claims. I have Allstate for car & motorcycles; they went through another company for a lot lower than what I had before ASI.
