Default Another reason to hate Comcast

Got an email alert saying my payment was past due. Turns out I under paid by 2-cents. I was told to pay it now or get charged a late fee. Can't I just add 2-cents to my June payment next week? I asked. No, I can't. Policy. Give me a break! How much does it cost Comcast to collect two cents? Sometimes it seems the bigger a company gets, the stupider it becomes. I'm not expecting any advice here, Villages friends. Remembering hows things used to be, I just needed to rant.

I totally understand. You would think that less than a dollar they would put it on next month. I received a bill this week for 36 cents from my doctor. It seems that was left over after insurance paid their part. If you want to bite them in the butt maybe pay for it with your credit card and then they might be charged fees for processing??? Just a thought. I used to have a friend who when he got junk mail in the mail would take the self addressed stamped envelope that was enclosed and wrap up a brick and tape the envelope to it and send it through the mail.

That does sound ridiculous. We are leaving Comcast next week and switching to direct TV. Hope they are better

Hysterical! Did it really work?

As for Comcast, even if you send them a check, it will cost them more to process it than the 2 cents owed. But I like the credit card idea even better.

Are you both keeping Comcast for Internet?

When I get junk e-mail I put it in the recycling. Your friend's approach to junk e-mail would require me to have a pallet of bricks delivered monthly.

The only thing you will miss when you get rid of Comcast is the Villages TV station

I have found DISH to be the best at customer service. One can always go to their store on 441 and talk to them directly. So far, no problems.

I have found them to be the best, as far as showing, a level of care.

Most people who are CSR's at the cable companies are only warming a chair. Not carrying 2 cents to the next bill, is reflective on how anal, they can be. IMHO

Just like going into a burger chain store and they can't even make change without the computer doing it for them. It makes me wonder if they were awake, when they went to school.

GOD forbid they should be able to think for themselves, but are driven by corporate policies and act like robots.

WHEW, now a feel better!!

BTW - I love the brick idea!!!

My daughter has Direct TV. The only problem I have with it is the Guide section.

That's too bad that you have this awful Comcast experience. Hope things will be better with Direct TV. We do have the Comcast bundle and are very pleased with it. No outages or anything like that in the three months we live at TV. We also got a $150 xFinity Visa card from them. Good luck tho with your new supplier!

The rep you spoke to may not have been empowered to do what you ask. In similar situations, I try to ask for a supervisor as they may have the ability to "fix" things on the spot.

I think DirecTV has much better guide and layout then Comcast which I see at relatives. All broadcast stations are on their real numbers. HD automatic if you have HD receiver. Much easier to use.
