Welcome to The Villages where living on a golf course means losing your privacy. Life is tough.

Is there a rule that says golf courses are restricted to golfers only? If there is you are right and the Villages needs to address this. If not, you need to get used to it. As noted, in another reply, I also lived on a golf course for many years, never again. Great views but you give up a lot of privacy!

It is my understanding that the executive golf courses are "district" owned and the championship courses are privately owned. If I am right, then the executive courses are publicly owned and should be enjoyed by all. With the size of most lots here in TV, you did not buy privacy anywhere in The Villages, nor did you buy any more than a fraction of an undivided interest in the whole of all of the golf courses. My house backs up to Morse Blvd. I don't ask the multi modal path be closed when the golf courses close nor do i ask that Morse Blvd. be closed after 9:30 PM. I enjoy the activity displayed here in The Villages. As long as the residents behave in a respectful / responsible manor they should be able to enjoy the golf course path, too.
"They say", most people buy, on average, buy three houses during their time in The Villages.

From the Villages Good Golf Guide:

• Golf courses are restricted to golfing traffic only.
• Please refrain from riding, biking, fishing, walking or engaging in other recreational activities on the courses.
• Pets are not permitted on golf courses or practice facilities at any time.

Been here only 4 years so I'm somewhat new, so if I'm wrong please let me know. Basically aren't there only three type of home here? 1. Privacy or staring at a wall 10 feet from your back door. 2. Staring at your neighbor out your back door. 3. View or staring at people participating in some activity.

Saw you are from Worcester Mass ... my family is from there ... May Street and June Street area.

At this point in time I think we should give people a break about walking and riding on the golf courses since they are the prettiest parts of The Villages. We live on Jacaranda and see the same thing ... and celebrate that so many are feeling so good about walking and riding. Hope you can see that part as well.

All the best ....

I live on a course in The Villages and have a house on a Country Club up north. I have no problem with people walking or running on the cart paths.

Definition of a grouch is someone that would yell at the kids because they're playing on their grass. Not sure what the definition is of yelling at someone playing on someone's else's grass.

I think these posts are going to drive up the property value of my very private lake view home in Fenney.

Just a quick point of clarification - the son of the adultery between king David and Bathsheba died. Their future son, Solomon, ascended to the throne.

Country clubs private property owned by developer, Executive courses owned by home owners. There are dog parks for big dogs and little dogs to stretch their legs.

I think you and many others really are missing the point, some miss it intentionally. It is really not about harm, but simply the fact they are usurping the golf course for their own purposes rather than the purpose it was intended for. Same mentally as using your money to buy themselves something just because your not using the money at the moment.
As to harm, any non-authorized traffic does add wear and tear and just how much is really, again , missing the point

If you're a 25 year old 125 pound blond chick, I’ll be watching your lanai after dark.
