That's fortunate for some people. BUT - The US nationwide is setting records for cases - 240,000 in ONE day. Also a record for one-day deaths - 3600. And for hospitalizations. CV cases are going up, not down in the US, not so much in other 1st world countries. The vaccines MAY (?) save us, but we were late to take moderation steps and take CV as seriously as needed. It is raging nationwide and the vaccines could be too little - too late!

I could not go and die anyway. It’s not wrong or right it is an individual decision.
Traveling on Christmas is NOT recommended by medical experts. Look what happened on Thanksgiving - record-spread! Better to do a Zoom conference than have a conscience filled up will worry about increasing the disease spread on Christmas. What would Jesus do??????

I asked Jesus. He told me to be cautious, be careful and enjoy His day with my family.

Young adults 25 to 44 are getting it in record numbers - they can't have underlying conditions in large numbers at that age!

No one escapes death. You never know when it will happen - but, it will happen.

In late 2009, my mom was suffering from an illness - we anticipated her death sooner than later due to the illness. She was still living in her own home taking care of herself. I spent mornings and evenings with her. She contracted H1N1 flu-like symptoms - and had to be hospitalized - and died the same evening - as she was telling the nurse that she was having a hard time breathing. Folks, we will ALWAYS have some strain of a flu or virus lurking. The weak and vulnerable - thru history - have always been popular targets.

I am doing all I can - eat well, maintain a low weight, exercise every day, stay away from carcinogens, sweets and alcohol....I also always wear a mask in public (to protect myself). I am not perfect - I know I will die - I know that as I age, I become more vulnerable. Today - may be my day - there are still 17 more hours!

BTW - I know many people - all 50* who have tested positive for COVID. Only one had symptoms that prompted her to go get tested. My friend is a fitness and weight freak. She noticed she gained 2 lbs and felt ‘bloated’ - she weighs 96 lbs. - that was the extent of her symptoms! Her husband tested positive as well - zero - no - symptoms! I know people who have been tested for their jobs - results fluctuate - positive one day and negative the next. I could go on and on. People I know who have died - they were people already diagnosed with other health issues - or - people who liked to indulge in high fat, high sugar foods, alcohol - and who placed no priorities on physical activity.

We need to live life, we need purpose in life, we need face to face human engagement - we need to accept and come to peace w/the fact that we are all going to die- we need to do what we can (and help loved ones) to be less vulnerable to the flu/viruses that are always going to be lurking out there.
Can NOT agree with that.

You are in my thoughts... good to hear you are still managing but I hope you have plan for help. Before buying in TV the first thing I considered was how will I get help if I need help by myself.

We're careful, don't take unnecessary risks and try to remember to respect distancing, but we're still out there. I'm so fortunate to be living in a place that's not suffocating our livelihoods. I think we can survive without adding hurt to those trying to support families.
The "livelihoods" appear to have become "deadlihoods".

Oh for the love of God! Getting Covid and death from Covid are two seperate things. In the state of Florida 384,342 people between the ages of 25-44 have tested positive for Covid. Of that number 452 have died. That's about 0.001 percent of the positive cases. So yeah, I could believe that 0.001 had underlying conditions. And yeah, I believe it is real and it is highly contagious. Just not a death sentence for a majority of the population.

It's time to shut down the squares, the bars and forbid any large group gatherings for a short time until the vaccine is given here. At a minimum wearing masks as much as possible.
Great post! That is the way to drive home a point and do a great service for your local community. Please run for Governor soon.

For those 452 people the death rate was 100%. Reminds me of the story of a small boy walking the beach throwing starfish back into the ocean which had washed ashore. A man observed what he was doing and told him, “son there are millions of those that wash up on the shore so you really can’t possibly think you can make a difference”. The young man listened respectfully, picked up another starfish and threw it into the water, looked at the man and smiled saying, “made a difference to that one”.

That is correct - It happened that way in Australia also.

US confirmed 247,403 new cases on Wednesday and 3,656 Americans died of the coronavirus in a single day. This is NOT “all of a sudden my underlying condition caught up with me. And what a coincidence!!!! It did for all these other people at the exact same time!!!” Medical professionals should be conferring truth and science, not the political garbage that has caused so many people to doubt the severity of this thing. I take I you’re not practicing anymore. Nurses of all people should have compassion for those out there on the frontlines battling this monster.
Good post ! Kudos.
