Rather than a Kayak, you might look up a "Twin Troller" for fishing. It's the same length but wider and incredibly stable to stand up in. Powered by two trolling motors in the hull, no padding required. It's the best fishing boat in the world, and not much more than a well-equipped kayak.

Pulling your kayak with your golf cart is not only insane, it is stupid.
Are you looking for attention? Please don't come to The Villages. |

Lake Miona as mentioned is the only place I would consider "within" The Villages. Other local spots are Lake Deaton, Lake Okahumpka, Lake Griffin State Park and the Withlacoochee river. If you like salt water fishing I like launching at Ozello. Plenty of mangroves and backwaters besides access to the Gulf.

I mentioned on an earlier post about two friends that kayak and use car roof racks to transport their kayaks. The one friend who goes to the Gulf coast all the time also has an inflatable kayak he bought on Amazon for about $300. You can put that in a golf cart a lot easier then pulling a trailer. Here's a link to Amazon and inflatable kayaks.
Amazon.com I mentioned a friend kayaks at Lake Okahump State Park. That lake is located here on this map. Google Maps Lake Okahumka Boat Ramp ![]() Lake Miona has been mentioned several times, it is within TV and they have a fishing pier, a small beach and many even water ski on Lake Miona. However, it's off of Rainey Trail which is a not a golf cart accessible road. I know people who live in Lakeside Landing, a community right outside TV on Rainey Trail and they will drive golf carts on that road and come into TV. Here's a map of the Lake Miona Park location. Google Maps Here is the Lake Minoa County Park Website. Lake Miona Park | Sumter County, FL - Official Website Lake Miona pier and beach, you should be aware all fresh water lakes in Florida will have alligators. ![]() Lake Miona Boat Ramp ![]() |

There's a YouTube video that shows what happens when you catch a large shark when fishing from a Unicorn Floaty.

Another great spot to launch is at the very end of N. Ozello Trail (just past Peck's Old Port Cove restaurant, which by itself is a must visit place). Plenty of parking, and you can float your kayak and hit the Gulf.

Is it accessible via golf car as he has suggested he wants to do?

Just giving some friendly suggestions for someone who obviously loves to kayak and fish. And although "The Villages" might be his main focus, there are lots of good places to go outside of the bubble. No good deed goes unpunished |

From the person who has offered no suggestions, other than criticizing me for suggesting a friendly alternative to a fellow fisherman.
Why even chime in? Hopefully the OP has received some good info and suggestions. Last edited by photo1902; 01-11-2021 at 07:49 PM. |

Why chime in when nothing you had to say helped in the OP's search for information regarding fishing within TV and access to such fishing with a golf car, did you even read it? the OP stated he prefer's not to use a car to haul the kayak. As far as my chiming in there is nothing else to offer as the one or two lakes that allow kayaks had already been mentioned and I did suggest he find out first if trailers are allowed on the cart paths so I am not the person who offered no suggestions.
