They're freeing up the pro shop to not have 30 people every hour coming in to buy tokens. Also makes some people happier by reducing an extra step and saving a few minutes everytime.

I wasn't trying to present this as an automated driving range.

My point is, the driving ranges all serve teaching centers. For teaching pros to come work in TV, they want to be able to teach 12 months. The number of teaching pros here now, can do that, they teach all year.

The topic of this thread is there are not enough driving ranges.
IF TV build say twice as many driving ranges, would the teaching pros at those driving ranges be busy all year?
I do think the new range (and teaching center in Eastport) will be busy.
I agree, we need more ranges, with or without the pros. The line ups at Sarasota can be intimidating. People are teaching their six year old how to drive. Nothing wrong we that but we need more. Many people who come here have never played golf or driven a golf cart. Suddenly, they find they are doing both…and liking it.

That's ridiculous.

The next time I hear a Villager saying, "I'd be happier if TV had more driving ranges", it will be the first time I've heard it.

The old pro my wife and I learnt from, said most people on driving ranges just pay good money to practice their faults.

True, spend the time and money with a pro getting your mechanics right first.

This time of year if you go to Sarasota or one of the Villages driving ranges, you always seem to have to wait. Many golfers go to ranges outside The Villages - you get a full basket of balls for a much more reasonable price, you can hit of grass if you want, and little to no wait.

I have no problem with the number of driving ranges in the Villages as I normally use Rolling Acres 80% of the time when I want a full basket . I find the number and size of short game practice areas to be scarce. The best designed and largest is the one at Turtle Mound unfortunately no practice bunkers.

Then you are hearing it now. It is where we practice to learn and get better at the game.

People that live near the Lopez Legacy CC are being quiet because it is an excellent facility and rarely busy.

This was not the case when I went but I did go in good weather. So if it is so it means we need more driving ranges in the center and south Villages. That is where people go.
