I did provide the information last evening (reluctantly). This morning I had an e mail to sign up for a specific time. I scheduled tomorrow, 1/12/21. I received another e mail confirming my appointment with instructions to print the confirmation containing a bar code. If this is a scam it is very sophisticated since they had all my information last night. There is no need for two follow up e mails. We will see.

I didn't see it BUT what I have seen is that there is and will be a lot of scams going on re: this vaxx. I also read that just because you see it publicized doesn't mean it's legit neither. Always, always, always question things especially "IF" they want your personal information.

First it’s a scam. Then maybe not. Now I hear it’s okay. There must be a better way...

Here is the privacy statement from the company running this effort.

You are rightfully concerned with providing the info, as was I.

The company is legit. The process is suspect.

Here is more information about their concerns for privacy:

Yes it is legitimate. It’s on the front page of the Daily Sun this morning. Glad I did it last night, so I’m ahead of all you skeptics.

The link does not go to the Access2Care site - I have tested that.

The site the link goes to has the Access2Care and Global Medical Response logos but oddly, you can't click the logos to get to the official sites.

The only two links you can click on the saferestart.net page are the ones that ask for more information.

Saferestart seems to be about medical assessments and monitoring for returning to work and not about scheduling vaccinations.

As others have pointed out, that level of personal info should not be necessary to register for a vaccination.

And all of this might just be wrong and the site really is legitimate but I would not provide my information until I personally saw a notification from an official Govt source about this site.
You do NOT need to provide an SSN to get a vaccine.

Being skeptical is good. Scams can be pretty sophisticated, so why not be careful? The “I got mine and you didn’t” is okay when you are 5 years old. Sad to see in an adult.

Hubby also have an appointment for tomorrow morning and for 3 weeks from now for the 2nd dose. Lost some sleep last night thinking maybe it was a scam. Makes me feel better that it was printed in today's paper. And very glad hubby can get his shot.

Question Todays paper free covid vaccine??

Todays paper Daily Sun has article for sign up for free vaccine front page. When you log in it asks for social security number and insurance info??? Says free so why is that info being requested?? Looks like insurance co would be billed - we backed out of site.

Vaccines are free and no need for a ss #. As all articles have said, photo ID and an appt are all thats needed. Why even look rwice at that kind of article when it makes no sense. It screams scam

Not SS# or Medicare# or any health insurance information is required. Those are not a pre-requisite for vaccine administration.

You do need a valid ID such as a driver's license.
