Amen... even before the pandemic The Villages was struggling to find help. They were advertising it all the surrounding counties miles away. Be kind ... choose your battles... don't sweat the small stuff.

I totally agree with the original post. We have to understand that we have all been impacted by our current way of life. Working in a mask all day is certainly different from wearing one for a short period of time. Cooking and serving in one isn’t the same experience and I would expect things not to run exactly smoothly. However, when I went to Urgent Care yesterday and was escorted into a room by the receptionist with her mask dangling from one ear and not covering her face, I spoke up. She said she had one on. Now picture her, literally with the elastic loop hanging from one ear and not attached to the other, her face not covered I asked her to put it on and she told me she was wearing it! Now that is something I consider to be inexcusable. I can put up with my meal not being perfect, I can’t put up with someone in a medical facility not wearing a mask.

Anyone in business who makes their personal politics known is an idiot.
The Mask/Or No Mask choice has morphed into a political statement — individually intentional or not — that has been the insidious effect. But, perhaps, in TV, there are business owners, and those in sales, who figure they can play the odds because TV has a national reputation of following the attitude of.....well.....you know. 911 was hell on earth — but, remember the feeling of being together as one nation. What happened. (rhetorical question though the answer is multifaceted) |

Kindness goes a long way! I heard one woman tell a small business owner (that was posted about in this forum) that she was going to "run them out of business" just because they did not agree with "her" interpretation of the guidelines. Why do people think it's ok to be rude to small businesses when they are struggling to survive?? 85% of small businesses did not receive money for the PPP.....and some owners are now working two jobs (running their business and another job) just to keep the doors open. And not one landlord has decreased the rent! I agree, if you don't like what you see, just leave. Why rant and rave on a social forum because someone didn't agree with you. It is so sad to see how people are treating small businesses. When big retail is all that's left....people will rant about that and forget they are the ones who ran small businesses out of existence. If you cannot be kind....be silent.

We've recently eaten at Bluefin / Brownwood and the Hurricane Dockside Grill - Tavares (on the way to Mt. Dora., 441 across from Lake Eustis.)
Totally different eateries yet both impressed us with their COVID awareness and preparations -- paper menus, distancing, etc.. |

Amen to that. I think that any manager, owner,or operator of any business is trying to make a success of that enterprise, whatever it may be,especially since most business has been shut down for two months. Give them a break, they have a hard row to hoe.

That's actually how it is at Nardo's, they ask that you wear a mask unless you're seated. |
