nitehawk,
I'm not permanently in Florida yet, but have spent a fair amount of time here.

In summers, I think the mornings and evenings are great, so I spend a lot of time outdoors.
During mid-day, it sure does get hot, and I do indoor things.

Thanks John, that is what I was hoping for rather then a link to the Weather service. I wanted people to tell me how it actually felt on those hot summer days. Right from the mouths of Villagers.

I do appreciate the weather links also, thanks.

Nonie......... you wanna know how it actually felt living in FL in the summer ? After showering in the morning, getting dressed for work, stepping outside............ you start sweating immediately & it feels like you need another shower.

In the evening.. taking a shower to get all dressed-up for a nite out, stepping outside you start to sweat immediately and absolutely MUST wear something sleeveless or you get icky!

During the daytime.... even the country club swimming pool was too hot to swim in ! Someone mention it feeling like a sauna ........ NO ..... it's more like a steam room.

DEBILITATING !

THE HEAT/HUMIDITY drained every bit of energy from my body and I had to stay indoors or go to the mall for a walk! Sure, I got used to it, but my energy was always low and I couldn't enjoy the outdoors very much from June to October :

Nonie:

I'm into my 4th summer here, now. Yes, hot and humid, for the most part. But, no worse than what I put up with in St. Louis for 40+ years. In fact, it's usually more comfortable here in the evenings than ever it was in St. Louis. Not really cool, mind you, but the humidity at least seems more bearable!

We almost never had an outdoor gathering up north after, say, mid-June until Labor Day or thereabouts. Here, I can stand the outside almost all summer, at least so long as I'm out of the sun itself!

This is my first summer here in The Villages, afternoon temps in low 90s, an afternoon shower sometimes which will cool temps into the 80s, and my week goes something like this: Monday, Wednesday and Friday I hop into my golf cart and drive over to the wellness center for an hours workout between 10:30 and 11:30. Drive back through Lake Sumter Landing and stop at one of the restaurants there for lunch the home to Duval. There I take my dog out and I put her in the golf cart and take her for a ride to get the mail, then home There I do some things around the house, might hop in thye cart to go to the grocery store. If it's not raining then I go down to Lake Sumter Landing and catch the entertainment. The heat is there but not oppressive while riding in the cart and finding a shady place to listen to the bands. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays I play golf, usually in the early afternoon. Today I went to the Wellness Center as usual and since the rain chance was small I went and did a walk-on to one of the courses and played golf this afternoon. If I can survive in the heat anyone can. There is usually 16 different movies to see every day here also and rec center activities indoors.

DickY...... you make TV Life sound very appealing and I look forward to participating, when my FSBO sells ;D

I will definitely join the wellness center and I love the idea of an indoor swimming pool, so I won't have to bake in the sun 8) If I knew of any Villages that had an outdoor pool with SHADE, I'd move there just for that !!

I am always cold, and it seems the older I get the colder I get. I even welcome hot flashes. ;D In MD I'm usually comfortable if the temperature is between 85, and 90. I always bring a sweater with me when I go to restaurants b/c the air conditioning is usually jacked up and it's freezing---why do they do that? I'm really looking foward to TV.

we lived in Hollywood Florida and that is South Florida and that is a lot hoter than TV. We just went about our daily routine and did not worry about weather. it is...what it is.....sometimes when you are to focused on it you can let it control your life. Forget it and enjoy the lifestyle. Of course be smart and if it is 100 then stay in AC. But my message is not to focus on it. The winter's in Hollywood were in the 70-80 and sometimes it dipped down to the 40-45 range but it was wonderful. i would guess the TV in the winter is a bit colder tht South Florida.
Just enjoy Life!!
