Sorry for the inconvenience.
Why do you think they have several trash cans around your postal stations, its not like your eating your lunch there, its for your junk mail.

So let’s remove the trash cans from the postal stations. That will show em. This stupid argument has been discussed before.

Default Answer to the Eternal Question

Although things may seem apparent, logical and obvious, at times obvious and logical may not apply. There are questions about the trash containers at the postal stations. I actually discovered the correct usage. I was at Burger King recently. I was sitting outside having a burger, fries and coke. When I was finished I was ready to discard the trash in the trash container near the eating area. After all, isn’t that what they’re there for? However, before doing so I noticed a sign that read “Do not discard, in these trash containers, food items, food containers, wrappers, bags, plastic eating instruments or beverage containers. For these items please use the trash containers located at your postal stations. These containers should only be used for junk mail. Thank you.” So, there you go, your question is finally answered. Apparent, obvious and logical do not always apply. Of course if you don’t do Burger King you’re still faced with a dilemma.

Others have their own preferences...
I agree with you. Some prefer to over fill the cans and others prefer to just pile stuff on top or prop it up against the can. Others prefer to empty ashtrays in the parking lot. Still others prefer to throw their empty can, bottle and food wrappers out the car window or cart. So, do what ever your personal preference might be.

Have a nice day. 😉✌

It’s not rude, it’s trashing something you didn’t ask for. Myself I just stick it into outgoing mail & let the PO trash it. Can you amagine the expense that’s added onto the consumer to buy what these companies are trying to sell. If they don’t want people trashing unwanted mail take the trash cans out then they can throw their junk mail on the ground. Advertisement is big bucks for these companies. It’s not rude to get rid of unwanted mail!

(snipped)

So you would prefer to make needless work for the postal station employees, who were only doing their job when they put junk mail in your box, than walk two feet to the nearest trash can or take it home with you. Nice.

I am of two minds about putting the junk mail in the out mail box. That is what you are supposed to do, but first you cross out your address and indicate that you want to return it to the sender. How else will the sender know you don’t want their mail? On the other hand, if everybody did that at the same time, it would overwhelm the postal worker. Maybe send one item back each day?

First world problems. Where is it stated that the trash cans at the postal stations are not for junk mail?
