If you order fries in the UK, you'll get French fries (aka pommes frites).

In Taiwan I learned that Sea Cucumber is NOT a vegetable grown in the sea.

............and in Scotland, the natives are very partial to a Mars Bar deep fried in batter!

Fish and chips, for example.

Haven't had fish and chips in England but while in New Zealand fish and chips served fresh wrapped in newspaper. Now I visit Raglan Road Irish Pub Disney Springs, monthly dine-in or takeout.

I read every post and didn't see a definitive answer. The video walk through showed only one small television mounted above the bar, and none in the dining room or anywhere else. In the video, the manager talked a lot about the food and booze, but didn't say anything about football. So, my prediction is that this will not be a sports bar.

Just bought some in Publix yesterday. In the canned vegetables aisle. I love 'em.

Says they are Irish. I always thought they were British. Any Brits out there? Where did they originate?

Mushy peas were a Northern England thing, but slowly becoming more widespread.
Can't stand'em myself!

They look like refried beans, but green.

Tried them in a pub in London some years where they were served with fish and chips and while they didnt look so good found out I liked them.

Have to look at the can label to see what is added to the peas.
