I suspect that this is the variety of mince that you refer to, I have never seen a storebought variety that actually contains meat
My mom always made mincemeat pies for Thanksgiving. She also used a "brick" of filling that came in a box. She soaked it in water and made her own crust, filled it and baked.
I have lost my taste for that filling and prefer apple.
Thanks for the memory

So, TVMayor, did you make your pie? How was it? Suet or no suet?

Echadog says Walmart on 466 has the filling, I will be paying them a visit in a couple of days. Fabricating a pie is a problem for me I have never bake a pie in my life. My cooking skills are with the microwave and bar B Q. I can not find a pie recipe for cooking a pie on a bar B Q.

The more I think about it I have decided I am going this minute to Publix and try to order one. One store said I could and the other did not know what I was talking about.

A stuffed goose main course is a great precursor to a mince pie desert!

Publix said they currently have an order for one and if I wanted to order one I could but they do not know if any orders are going to be filled. Now that's a hell of a way to run a hardware store.

In other words, "Don't call us, we'll call you." Pfft.

Amazon has some pies that can be ordered, if a box of what I would more accurately deem tarts will do you. Likely to be better tasting, small pies can also be ordered from England, although I quail to think what the shipping costs would be. Mrs. Smith makes a frozen one but I couldn't get their store location finder to work.

Here's an actual whole 9" pie with glowing reviews, but it's "currently unavailable."

I've never eaten mincemeat, but I'm starting to feel your pain!

Mincemeat pie and currently unavailable are the same thing. To see one all you have to do is close your eyes.

I clicked on the Walmart item and it said not available within 50 miles of you. I checked the paper phonebook for the TV looking for "Bakery", not one bakery in the phonebook. My last resort, I am going to call 911.

Fresh Market took my second order, my first order I want one and I want it now did not pan out. I was told the supply is limited, the quantity is unknown and the time of arrival will be announced at a later date. $9.9?

Thank you cologal.

Good luck Mayor!

My takeaway? Some entrepreneurial Villager needs go into the seasonal mincemeat pie business.

This was my first visit to a Fresh Market store, they have stuff I have never seen before. Like octopus salad, what is that all about? Do you feed it to your octopus or does it have octopus in it?

How can they have octopus salad and no mincemeat pie?
